.THE PIEDMONITOR April 1, 1952 Page 4. route extension be approved. It will operate on a frequency of 275 kcs. A low power “H” faci lity will also be, installed at the Beckley airport, - GREENSBORO HIGH POINT - C. C. West Since th5 arrival of the new station expense record GIB will probably be sore because I didn t write this on the back of used teletype paper. He says that SYTOP means Save your Tablets Or Paper”,.. Speaking of SYTOP, although the campaign has been going on for some time we get many requests for information about it. One of the girls from the advertising department of the Greensboro Daily News came out to find out if we left the “K” out of our ad in the paper. She thought it was meant to be SKYTOP,„. We are proud to have the addition of two new flights, 22 and 29, but they pose an additional problejn. We don’t have the space to hang the two re servation charts. We also understand that there is a movement on foot to expand our office space so that we will have something to be proud of beside our new floor, which was put down last October... LLoyd GOLDING returned from a few days in Havana and the air is still blue with flying Spanish. Bob -TURNER went to Chicago and had the misfortune to fall sick. That is aheck of a way to enjoy a few days off. Allen GRAY has been promoted to Chief Agent. Irwin (Lover-Boy) APPLE has just finished another coffee jug rack. Now, if he can just get some orders from SDF or IMN or some other catering point, he is ready to go into produc tion... Understand that EAL has dropped several flights into ROA, We may pick up a few extra passengers and convert them to the PAI belief... Recent visitors were: Chief T^gent MAHN, from IMN, Marjorie LOWE from CHW, Millie PRESTO and Nancy FOSTER from INTC. You all come to see us! - FORT BRAGG Joe Gurganus We’re singing the blues - what with most all of Fort Bragg personnel in Texas participating in “Operation - Longhorn”, we have had to set up “Operation-Scrape the Barrell” ! Nonetheless, business might be considered “fair”. Of 678 passengers boarded in FAY for the month of Feb. 135 of them were originated at the Transportation Office - an average of 6.7 passengers daily. This is approximately fifteen less than the month of January, but the future is bright - maneuvers will be over next month and increased revenue for PAI is certain. With continued help from you guys and gals in your excellent job of confirming Fort Bragg reservations we hope to establish a few records. - LEXINGTON - F. J. Perry I can assure you the LEX personnel are in favor of the 2nd Airmail contest now in progress. We understand we are one of the winners in the original contest held during Jan. h Feb. How ever, we haven’t had our steak dinner as yet (How Come?) I will be going on vacation short ly and I sure would like to have a steak dinner prior to departure. It would be nice to start a vacation with a nice thick juicy steak under one’s belt - its’ not often one gets a chance to eat that rare product these days!....I wish to warn all stations with 6 or more flights that we are doing our best to win this second contest also. We haven’t had a mail mishandling as yet this year! Not bad for a station with 14 flights daily. I wonder if we can complete ‘52 without one? Maybe I’m asking for a miracle but I think it can be done... Ah, vacation time is here at long last. Miss V. WADE, or since March, Mrs. William Black, started hers off with a bang. Virginia finally took that fatal step, getting married while on vacation. I understand they planned on honeymooning at New Orleans. Virginia is due back on duty today, but married life sure must be agreeing with her since we didn’t even get a post card while she was gone. Anyway, we wish you and Bill the best of luck... Spring is here, and it came in with flying colors in the Blue Grass country. Had temperatures up to 75 degrees. It sure is nice to see
