TERMINAL DEDICATION
On May 15, 1953, the clty of
Roanoke dedlcaled a new half-
mllllon dollar airport terminal
building. Guest speaker at the
occasion was Captain Eddie V.
P I ckenbaeker, President of
Eastern Air lines. Captain
Rickertbacker was introduced by
Piedmont's President* T. H.
Da V I * .
The occasion was attended by
officials of all airlines serv
ing the city of Roanoke and a
crowd of approximately 2,000
people were present at the ded
ication ceremony.
Prior to the dedication visit
ing aviation officials from
several states attended a
luncheon sponsored for the
occasion by the Junior Chamber
of Commerce of Roanoke.

MYR's second annual Sun-Fun
Festival got off to a fast
start June 3 lasting through
June 7. Reigning as Queen over
this festive affair was lovely
Neva Jane Langley, Miss America
of 1952, who hai Is from Macon,
Georgia. Miss Langley flew
Piedmont to and from the festi
val. Five days of furi Included
beautiful floats, nationally
known celebrities and beauty
queens from several states.

band concerts and treasure hunts

INT PILOTS ENJOY FETE
Not In time to make the dead
line last month but Council
120-INT had a get-to-gether at
the local YWCA and Mike "The
Man” Holton tossed up an
attractive program.
Guests for the occasion were
Zeke Saunders and Frank Nichol
son as welI as the new members
of the pilot group. Just In
case you all missed Gray Booth,
he tangled with a tractor and
came off second best with a
busted wing,

again, Mrs. Conary having re
turned to Sweden to visit her
folks aft er seven years over here.
