WITH PAI AFTER FIVE YEARS
Having worked within a month
of five years with Piedmont
Airlines as CAA safety agent

Mr. Turner came to the INT CAA

and flew with mlntmums 200 feet
above mlnlmums used by other
carriers. He assisted Piedmont
through approvaI of I IS opera

Culler, Bill Davis, John Hall,
Reid Cook and Eddie Culler.
The only two men who are not
of the original group are Fred
Faddis and Bill Davis.
A year ago, when the Civil Aero
nautics Board extended and en-
larqed Piedmont's operating
authority, it became immediately
evident that the presently used
facilities would be inadequate
to accommodate the continued
growth of the Company. Recog
nizing the major long ranqe
consequences of location of per
manent headquarters and the
Company*s obligation to the em-
ployees, stockholders, and the
public it serves, the Company
carried out a thorough analysis
of existing and proposed facil
ities at several cities on its
route system, equipment and crew
scheduling problems, and other
related factors.
All of these considerations in
dicate that the best Interests
of the Company can be served by
maintaining its headquarters in
Winston-Salem at this time.
There remains the matter of con
struction of the new office
buildings and maintenance shops
at Smith Reynolds Airport and
whether or not these buildings
should be constructed by the
Company on Company property or
