TRI BIDS ANEW FOR 3000,
ADDS WX TO DUTIES
It's high time that TRI contri
buted to our very fine Piedmonitor
especially since T. R. Cowen, at
CVG broke into print last month.
We are determined not to let CVG
get ahead of us in anything, es
pecially passengers.
Most of you, if you have non-rev*d
any, have been through TRI, and
probably transferred here, but
to those who haven’t, and to our
good friends in accounting who
mail pay checks, here is our roll
call: Bill Clark, Gordon Wagner,
Bill Pickle, Brad Moody, Milt
Ward, Roy Mumpower, Ralph Stidman,
Bill Hamilton, D. Akard, George
Donnelly, Bill Johnson, Phyllis
Morrell, Helen Hopson, Avis Haire,
Betty Atkins, Annabelle Wessels,
Ralph Hilbert, Ray Norris, Bob
Byrd, Hack Van Huss, Tessie Woz-
nisky, Don Edmundson, and Don
Woods. We have just recently
lost "Chief" Ted Arnold, who is
now in London-Corbin, getting
ready for his inaugural flight
October 1. Best of luck from all
your friends at TRI, Ted.
We had a very good start towards
our goal again this month, 3000
passengers, but are not building
our hopes too high for a big let
down like we had in August. We
need a party here bad, so we just
have to make it soon.
Piedmont now operates the weather
station here from 2200 to 2400 -
Poor Flight 81 Milt Ward is still
trying to figure out how he could
see Flight 8 so clear the other
night at 3500, with his M400-foot
ceiling I Don Woods

NNW OUTLINES LIMO SETUP
Have to substitute this issue for
"Snoopy Coiner", who is enjoying
his vacation.
In the past year we have received
a number of inquiries from the
stations over the system regard
ing limousine service to various
points on the peninsula. The
Patrick Henry Airport serves 3
cities, 4 military installations
and a number of historical sites.
The airport itself is located in
the city of Warwick, 16 miles
from the city of Newport News,
and 18 miles from Hampton. The
limousine service is available
to these three cities plus ser
vice to Williamsburg, Yorktown,
Jamestown and the military in
stallations on the arrival of
all our schedule flights. Also
the limousine service is avail
able to the Chamberlin Hotel
located at Old Point Comfort,
Hampton, Va, also to the Warwick
Hotel, Williamsburg Inn and the
Williamsburg Lodge, in Williams
burg, Va.
I hope this will aid the agents
working in the field in giving
top service to Piedmont passen
gers boarding at their stations
to the peninsula area.
Activities around the station
have been normal for this time
of year. We are working on our
ramp equipment getting ready for
winter operations.
That's about all for this time.

NON-REV ISSUE AROUSES
INT TO CLAIM HONOR
Open letter to Mr. L.W. Golson:
IMN open letter to you in Sept.
issue of Piedmonitor regarding use
of NRSA riders to boost them over
the 1000 mark, was read with great
interest and somewhat greater sati
faction by the personnel of INT-F.
We believe it only fitting that
IMN be awarded something for board
ing over 1000 passengers, whether
it was revenue or non-revenue
business.
However, before any hot dogs are
passed out under the above condi
tions, we would like to quote a
few figures that are never pub
lished.
For the month of June we boarded
349 NRSA's, July 243 and 299 in
August. This easily puts us in
the 1000 plus category each of
these months. To emphasize a
little more on the NON revenue
side of the picture - during the
month of August we handled out
bound - 441 pieces of COMAT at
7156 lbs. This, we might add, was
a slow month on the COMAT end.
A quick check of IMN revenue
poundage boarded during August,
shows AM 2078 lbs,, AE 1418 lbs.,
and AF 1189 lbs,, a total of
4685 lbs. The figures show we
boarded 2471 lbs- more COMAT than
IMN boarded revenue.
We like steak as well as the next
man, but we'll settle for a hot
dog on the basis of the figures
quoted.
We would like to go on with these
figures, but Burton the Comat
cartage agent just pulled up at
the back door with a truck load
of boxes, and there are twenty-
four people waiting at the counter
for the next trip. You guessed
it - they*re all NRSA'sl
Respectfully, but with back-
aching pain,
