Station Manager, Chester Nutt, has
just returned from vacation fatter
and sassier than ever. Three guess
es where he spent his time. That's
right - Louisville I He must miss
the place. Maybe there's some
thing up there we don't have here
at Raleigh-Durham.
Coval Williamson is spending his
vacation in the big city of New York
and we hope he doesn't get lost up

PURSERS ADD TWO NEW MEN
The pursers department found it
self short-handed during the past
month due to illness and vacation,
although still adding two new flight
attendants.
Mike Woods, assigned to IMN, and
Edward Lee McMillian, ORF, were
the two new men, reported by the
service department.
On the ailing list were Joe Cook,
out with appendicitis, Jack King,
a bout with pneumonia, Bill Rowe,
flu, Dennis Mellott, ear infection,
and Bob Shanks, flu. Most of them
are back in service.
Bob Parris took a vacation during
the month,
A meeting was held in ORF during
the last week of October for pur
sers in that sector.
On October 5, 1953 Yellow Cab Co.
of Wilmington gave a party for our
station personnel, their wives and
dates.
The smiling individuals in i:l>e pic
tures included Juyne & Pete Jones>,
Pauline and Dick Mahn, Edith and
Boyd Rutledge, Barbara and Hugh
Kelly, Nell and James Sandifer,
and R. P. Meares who tagged along
with his date, Nancy Griffith.
Representing Yellow Cab were Mr.
Julius Wenberg, Mr. and Mrs. H,
Munn, Robert Lewis and Dorothy
Rhodes, Representing the airport
were Mr. andMrs. John Westbrook.
A dinner was served and the party
consumed large portions of shrimp,
lobster, oysters and steaks. Rut
ledge and Kelly had an oyster-roast
marathon and did away with a few
bushels of the pearls from the bri
ny deep. The only complaint of the
evening was made by these two big
gluttons suffering from upset mid
sections .
A good time was had by all and the
relationship of Yellow Cab and PAX
was further bonded.
Unable to attend were Mr. and Mrs.
Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Beatty.
