MORAL RE-ARMAMENT IDEA OUTLINED TO PAI LEADERS The ideology of Moral Re-Armament sum med up in four absolute standards of "ab solute honesty, absolute purity, absolute unselfishness and absolute love under God's guidance", was outlined to top Piedmont Airlines officials here last month by a group of MRA exponents. Coming to Winston-Salem on the invitation of Mr. T. H. Davis, the team of MRA members addressed all PAI department heads and several other invited guests, outlining the work of the organization. The MRA group is credited with contrib uting materially to settlement as well as minimizing management-labor difficulties through their approach to all problems as to "what is right". Mr. Davis introduced the group which consisted of an airline pilot from North west Airlines, a PAA mechanic, a Wash ington attorney, a former Navy officer from RIC, and a business man from MIA. They also featured a 30-minute film, bas ed upon the MRA work undertaken in the settlement of National Airlines strike some years back, successful conclusion of a bus strike in Miami and scenes of the annual MRA gathering at Mackinac Island, Mich. Following the meeting which outlined the purposes of the organization and its ob jectives, the group discussed many of the undertakings in an informal question and answer session. itit'k'k'k'kitifit** NEW AGENCY BOASTS PAI ADS A stepped-up program of advertising for Piedmont Airlines has already begun in the appointment of Liller, Neal and Battle, of Atlanta and New York, as the new advertising agency. Promotion of the PEP program and other phases of PAI's service are to be featured in the expanded publicity. *********** -12- Susie Burkholder, INT-C, recently appoint ed supervisor of teletype and radio quarters at Winston-Salem base, working an inbound fl ight. ORFC AGENT VISITS FETE Dot Nelson is enjoying her vacation in Mobile and New Orleans, at Mardi Gras time. Using the hospitality of CAP out of TYS to complete her journey. From the looks of the bags, lots of excess baggage. Have two new agents at ORFC. Margaret McAdams and Delores Tucker, Very nice young ladies, Eva Lichenthal took part of her vacation and did nothing but laze a- round and get rested from the Xmas season. With the grass greening up and the sun be ginning to shine on the sands, looks as if business is coming to life and people are getting vacation-minded. People living on the beaches taking off for the mountains and the people in the hills hitting toward the flat lands, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, Jim H. ************ CREDIT UNION SETS HOURS Business hours for the PAI Credit Union were changed recently to cope with a growing demand upon the treasurer in INT. The new hours are from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. and 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. daily, except Sat urday and Sunday. The Board of Directors set the new hours in order to give Henry Wood, treasurer, more time to handle the credit union work and still not interfere with his regular office duties. CHARLESTON CHW Clear weather.. .a green leaf.. .a small robin.. .springtime has hit CHW! To complete the wonderful feeling of "slightly springtime", the owner of the Limo Co., Roy Mundy, had a party for all airline employees of CHW, Feb. 13. Everyone brought their "Valentine", and a spectacular time was had by all. It was held at the VFW Hall and Johnny Jukebox and his 25 originals furnished the rhythm for dancing. Everyone is trying to plan a vacation, but I believe "Yours truly" will be first . . . leaving for the wild glorious west and my old home in Oklahoma next month. Eston Davis will also venture into a long anticipated "rest". He would like to go Germany or Utica, New York, but quote Eston, "I'll probably stay at home smoking me ole pipe, reading some dilapidated ole books". Clearer weather has permitted us to in crease our passenger boardings. We're trying - passengers are buying - Piedmont is flying. Til next time when I ride in from the ole west Ruth ************* BERMUDA NON-REVS HALTED Revenue travel to Bermuda good. Colon ial Airlines has advised that they are for ced to place a general embargo on non revenue and reduced rate transportation to Bermuda between March 15 and July 10, Lee Golson said. Colonial also expresses the desire to have as many of us as possible get acquainted with their service to Bermuda. Therefore, as soon as the pressure on passes has been relieved, they will advise us. ************
