EASTBOUND very happy to have you with us. Bob. Good luck on your new assignment, Ed. FAYETTEVILLE - Things have really been popping around FAY with a lot of good things happening. We are really filled with pride when we think of this May 8th, that was the day our record was set for boarding passengers. Out of six west bound flights leaving that day, we only had four empty seats. Out of a hundred and forty-four seats, we boarded one hundred and thirty passengers out of FAY. With the big maneuver FLASH BURN end ing we were trying to get all the home sick soldier boys on their way home. We are still talking of that big day around FAY. Trueman Hon wil 1 be leaving FAY June 3 for Los Angeles where he will enter U.C.L.A. in the fall. Trueman is very interested in dramatics and is scheduled to work with the Pasadena Playhouse this summer. Trueman, It has really been a pleasure working with you, and we all wish you all the success possible, and we are looking forward to the day we will see your name in lights! Dwayne Jones has just returned from a trip to Greenville, Mississippi, and re ported a wonderful time. He rode EAL from ATL into CLT, and SOU really had a full ship that night with 24 passengers out of ATL and no room for NRSA Jones. Our congratulations go to Lorry Priest of FAY, who has just been promoted to agent. We all wish you much luck with your new job, and you can rest assured that your fellow agents will help you in every way. Congratulations also go to our Station Manager, Bruce Parrish, for being the winner of the AIR FRANCE contest. He really seems ext ited about the trip, of course, who wouldn't be! All the talk of getting there, passports, shots, new wardrobe, etc., surely is getting ex citing! We consider Mr. and Mrs. Parrish a very lucky pair, and although we envy them, we are wishing them a wonderful trip and looking forward to their return to hear all about what it's like to ride with Air France and all the wonderful places that they'll visit. We put out the welcome mat for our new utility agent. Bob Bennington. We are We will sign off extending each of you an invitation to visit with us in FAY and see our new building and also our new counter which should be completed with all the trimmings real soon. In the next issue, we will have some snapshots of the agents showing off our new ticket counter. Dot Davis NORFOLK - Bob Dean was in INT flying temporary duty from the 15th through the 30th because of the schedule change. Bill Crowe was on a two-weeks vacation last month. Jim Daniel took a week. Crowe spent most of his time in CLT and Daniel got quite a bit of flying time around ORF and ROA still working on his Commercial. Dick Murchison got a reprieve from the Draft Board - another month! Boy, he is really stretching it out as long as he can. Says he is going next time and get it over with. Bob Dean sporting a Studebaker.. .Taylor and Woods have new Fords.. .Shahan still has his Georgia Chrysler,.. I wonder why the wrecker follows Sha everywhere he goes with that hopeful look in the driver's eye? ?? Pursers shuttling between ORF and CVG to eat at Mills Restaurant.. .or is it to see the blond that serves the pxjt roast?? The cokes are working out fine, nothing like a nice cool refreshing Coca Cola on a h't day. The passengers seem to like the idea, too. They seem surprised when you offer them a bottle coke. Is PA I the first to use them for beverage service? All from here.... C. B. Cross NORFOLK - Ed Jones, a newcomer to ORF, is now a newcomer to R!C. Ed was transferred to RIC on the 15th of May. Ed's hometown is BLF and his answer when asked what he thought of the transfer was, "Well, it's one jump closer to home." Larry Woyer, who sticks to a strict bud get, has a new lunch box. This was accom plished when Larry bought shoes for his baby and insisted they be left in the box. F.O. Ray Emanuelson and wife have adopted a baby girl. The little Miss has been named Karen Ann. On her arrival to her new home, she was nine weeks old and weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces. Billy McGee was charged with reckless driving on the ramp while working flight 72. Charges were brought forth by Les Hendricks and now Billy's baggage cart licenses read "Good for daylight operations and while wearing glasses only". Take notice agents.and govern yourselves accordingly! Captain Sam Parnell and F.O. Lyons have decided there are no fish in the Hampton Roads area. This conclusion was drawn when they threw their arms off one afternoon trying to land a trout with their new "Atomic Bomb" plug. This is the first time it did not catch a fish, at least so they say. Gentlemen, the fish are here and the plug must be good, so just adjust those bomb sights and come again. Thanks to Evelyn Canterbury and Keith Fabrizo, both from RIC, for coming down and working the station so everyone could attend the station meeting. George Bos- worth and Reggie Powell returned the favor a week later by working RIC station so everyone could attend their little get- together. Art Whittaker and Hubert Altizer took part in the recent BLF airport dedication on May 15. Both are very proud that their hometown now has first-class air service, Reggie Powell RICHMOND - Greetings to all from Richmond 1 Once again we visit you be tween flights and boarding passengers.
