PIEDMONT PIPER BEECHCRAFT PIEDMONT BECOMES BEECHCRAFT DISTRIBUTOR On May 1, the news was out—Piedmont Aviation had become a Beechcroft distri butor. This was a momentous step and one which releases a tremendous sales poten tial. For now Piedmont has just the air plane for any sales market, any price, any need. Now Piedmont is the distributor for the two largest manufacturers of personal and corporation aircraft in the world. The corporation aircraft field had a bomb shell tossed at it when Piper announced the Apache, a handsome twin-engine air plane priced little higher than customsin- gle engine equipment. The Apache is a value-packed ship, safe, quiet, comfor- 01 ^r\ 1 r. table, fast. The low-priced standard for several years has been the familiar Piper Tri-Pocer, one of the easiest airplanes to fly ever built. No one has ever built a utility airplane which can compete with the legendary Piper Cub. But we needed a higher-priced luxury line so we became Beechcraft distributor. For the man who wants more speed and luxury than the Tri-Pacer, there is the famous Beech Bonanza, whose familiar butterfly tail is identifiable by every schoolboy in America. Over 4500 Bonanzas have been built and sold, and the demand is growing. And what an airplane the new F-35 Bonan za isl Fast? Call it 184 at 8000 feet. Comfortable? There's more leg room than in your family car. Reclining seats, head rests, heavy sponge rubber carpet pads with deep-pile rugs, seats piled thickwiti' foam rubber make Bonanza the most com fortable single engine airpi one on the mar ket. Beauty? A clean basic design, sup plemented by the most luscious paint jobs you ever saw, plus interiors straight out of Hollywood are indicative of Beechcraft's attention to detail . Safety? Ask any pilot He'll tell you the Bonanza is one of the easiest airplanes to fly in the world, and its handling characteristics are wonderful. It lands like a dream .Steerable nose wheel mmSk 4
