X^ijimi^icnriTPisL ,iculcU!s. Boy, it's hot! But with all the wonderful things that go along with the hot weather, who cares? Speaking of wonderful things, are there any skin-diving enthusiasts a- round the Company? I was introduced to this really thrilling sport a few years ego in Florida, and have been an avid devotee ever since. Most inland waters are too murky for sctisfoctory diving, but e/en just a few feet beneath the surface, you're in another world. |f any of you are addicted to this particular mania, let me know. I'd love to swap experiences with you. How about sane under-water photography, may be ? We've had a lot of favorable comment on last month's story on the Outer Banks, so you might be interested in a sequel. Last weekend, we tried a really primitive ex cursion. Just below Salvo on Hatteras Island, there is a pecuI iar bottom format- ion which in turn causes odd underwater currents. The place is alive with game fish. We pitched a tent on the dunes, no less, and went careening up and down the beach looking for the tell-tale line of gulls in the breakers. The fish were there they were hungry, we weren't for long. Bluefish, Spanish Mackeral and Kings ate live bait and spinners with a vengeance. Cooked over charcoal on our little port able burners, they were purely delicious. Next day we were fishing for Bass in the Collington Pond behind Wright Brothers Memorial at Kill Devil Hill. Do not be lieve there is better Bass fishing in N.C. End of story. We're going again this week. ************* Piedmont certainly goes to some wonda'ful places, many of which are relatively un explored. Have many of you tried More- head city? That's mighty unusual. First of all, it's the only beach on the Alantrc Coast which runs east-west. This creates a tide and wave condition favorable to the surfboard and water-ski enthusiast. While MRH is not as large as some of the com mercial beaches, you'll find plenty to do. The Gulf Stream, with all it's magnificient fishing, lies not too far off-shore,and just about anything that swims can be taken in its blue waters. One of myfavorite hobbies is good food, and Morehead boasts one of the finest sea-food houses I've ever been in, the Sanitary Fish Market (no kiddin'j) Men,do you like to cook? Are you an ex pert in the kitchen? Well if you want to make your spouse's eyes pop open and her mouth water, try this one. Using either fresh or frozen lobster tails, boil the littb devils for 20 minutes, remove the shell, then place in the broiler for from 5-10 minutes. Serve them in a deep di^ co/ered by a sauce made from beaucoup melted butter, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Be careful of the soy sauce.Try the taste test as you add soy sauce to the melted butter. Deee - licious. *************** flboui flue minutes ggo J- ihen he faiNted—Ohby Ue v^ay.
