Ann Isaacs is gaily at work again from her
il Iness, and seems to be her old 1 ively self.
You've all heard the story, "but I was held
up in traffic, just couldn't get to the field
for my fl ight any sooner. Some old "joker"
drove 20 miles an hour and hogged the
road in front of me.“So went Jack Kelley's
sad tale when he missed 35. We finally
persuaded him to ride American's flight to
CVG and al I was wel 1 except non-Convair
lover. Jack.
Hal iowe 'en was fairly quiet in QW except
for tv/o of the boys. Almost ready to close,
Paul Kelley's shift was busy in reservations
and operations dusting and sweeping.
The counter buzzer rang and I went to the
counter to assist the lady tearing down the
counter so "daintily". When I asked if )
might help her ** no reply and just a cold
stare - Bob Woods had become a "Lady"
for the evening's events(and we might add
a very pretty one). Fisher was introduced
to him(her) and he carried the joke out to
the very end . (At firstglance Bobwasreally
matter-of-fact in looks). We told Denver
she worked for PA|. The final laugh came
when undoubting Fisher asked if she was
just passing thru. Lee Davis made a charm
ing escort for "Miss" Woods.

CHARLOTTE - The news at CLT may be a
little short; however, let‘s start off with
the always popular Nan Dabbs. Know what
she told me? She said, and | quote, "That
if that doctor in Statesville used just a
little more persuasion that she may not be
making reservations after January . "I don't
know about persuasion, but if a two-hour
'phone call has anything to do with it, I
bet I get to sing for a big three dollar
weddin'.... come on, ful 1 steam ahead . ..
I hope she's kidding for our sake, because
she real ly makes herself useful around here.
Many people continue to come through
CLT and marvel at our New Terminal. More
parking areas have been laid off, and the
area provided for the Cannon Aircraft
Sales & Service is almost ready for con
struction work to begin. This place has
really grown in the last few years. |f you
have not had the chance to visit our new
terminal and PAI quarters, we invite you
to do so when you can Kinda hard to
stay away from that TV when the fights
are on.
Georgina Michael has returned from atrip
up in Pa., via TRhDCA. We wondered if
she would make it. .. .she did, and had a
big time on that first NRSA pass. J. D.
West DID return from vacation broke and
sober and the same ole J.D. Understand
he had a good time up around Corbin . Carl
Simpson NRSA'd down from HKY while he
was doing relief in that station. Had a
quick snack with your correspondent, and
back up on trip 5. We enjoyed having you,
Carl, you must bring the family down soon.
Jimmy Johnson has been transferred from
DCA back to CLT and is taking his turn
at the teletype and operations. . ..
CINCINNATI " With only two months re
maining in the year, it seems that all per
sonnel with the exception of "Sell "Em on
Piedmont" Slater and Slavedriver Cowen
are going to make full use of those offline
passes. Aiof now, Jane Griffith is in HOU,
Frankie Brock has a pas: for LAX, Walt
Jacobs will be off for MIA, Penny Goerss
and child will also go to MIA. Not to be
outdone, Nancy Lockwood is in ATL on a
few days off, Marian Robben has used her
MIA offi ine and just returned from her
holiday al lowance,which was spent most
ly in HTW. Barbara plans a LAX trip in
December. Believe it or not, all of these
trips will be taken prior to December 15
with all hands at CV'G for the week prior
to Thanksgiving.

Frances Brock, Frankie, being of the fair
er sex, is naturally pretty. She is a native
of Scott County, Ky. Prior to coming with
PAI, she was an assistant bookkeeper for a
dry cleaning concern. She has now been
with the Company for 3-1/2'/ears, and we
hope will be here for some time to come.
When things get rough on the job, Frankie
is the one to straighteri them out. She has
made many friends within Piedmont and,
of even greater importance, has Improved
relations between PAI and the other air
lines in CVG. Frankie is a definite asset
to PAI.
FAYETTEVILLE - The Beasleys report their
trip to the Sunny South was quite nice. . .
they took ful I advantage of al 1 discounts a-
fforded airline personnel . They journeyed
to Miami via Delta from CVG and used a
U"Drive-|t for an extended trip down to
Key West.
Joe Gurganus and Iris GilMkin visited us
from CLT recently. Joe took Iris to Fort
Bragg,his "old stomping ground", because
she had never seen our very popular army
base,
Dot Davis and Lillian Nordan (former em
ployee) really lived it up on a four day
trip to Baltimore and Washington recently.
Quite an experience, especial ly since they
went via a "little 'ole Cadillac."
Larry Cook and his wife are on vacation. .
