FAYETTEVILLE (Cont'd.)
ing the scenery.
Our congratulations go to Carl Bowen who
was promoted to Agent November 1 .
For our newer personnel along the system,
we would like to begin introducing each of
our personnel in FAY. . .this way we will
feel we know each other better.
Our Manoger, W.C. (Bill) Wooten is a
veteran employee with PAl,having been
v/ith the Company almost eight years. Bill
worked at INI, PHF and SDF and three
jaunts at FAY. Seems as if he can't stay
away from these parts. We welcome back
Mr.and Mrs. and the three IittleWootens.
Our two reservationists are Betty Ward and
Dot Davis. Betty is from Goldsboro and was
in charge of that station during operations
there. She has worked at ORF, TRI and
RIC. Betty has been at FAY about three
years... .she's single, eligible, and owns
her car and TV and is very fond of fishing.
Dot Davis is from Hope Mills, N.C. and
has been with the Company about 4-1/2
years. Dot has spent all of her time at FAY
since coming with PAl. She is single and
scampers around here in her little white
convertible.
Robert Jackson has been with PAl for four
years and resides in Hope Mills,N.C. with
his wife, Lela, and 1 ittle daughter Debbie.
Bob is a very sincere and congenial person
well liked by all fellow workers.
Our Chief Agent,Hersey Person, has been
with the Company four years. H.P. is
single and has just bought a new home...
don't know what to expect here. Hersey
is a local boy, having spent his entire tour
of duty at FAY.
GREENSBORO- If you could see all the
tired, broken-down agents in GSO, you
would know we had just survived another
furniture show. Give us a few weeks to re
gain our energy.
The welcome mat is out again for another
new agent - James Vestal is the new
addition from Hasty,N.C. James has just
completed asixteenweek course at Central
Airline Training School in MKC.
Ray Wiggs is a proud father. It was a boy,
born in October. This is just what he want
ed, because the first was a girl.
Bud Sizemore is taking "the big step "
November 10. The lucky girl is Shirley
Louise Cummings from INT. Richard Smith
and "Pat" have decided on an early Decerri-
ber wedding. We wish both couples the
best of luck and all the happiness in the
world.
E. F. Scott had a few days vacation in
October. He said the maountains were at
their best. Claude Kiger is using this nice
weather for golf during his short vacation.
Joe Barber will be leaving for Nashville,
Tennessee for thirteen days in Novem.ber.
HICKORY - The furniture show is over
again for a few months .We didnt' have the
usual bad weather on our big days, so things
are dull and normal again. Our VAR is still
inop as far as PAl is concerned, now we
are to get a "HOMER" which will make
service more dependable, and we are sure
will help busines. Our minimums have
been varying from 600 to 1000 for a year.
Expect to be started on our new terminal
building not later than March 1956 and
that will be a glad day.
Bill Isenberg and family have been on va
cation. Gerald Cannon and wife just
finished vacation. Pappy Vi/alsh had his
vacation(?) earlier. Carl Simpson worked
part of vacation relief for us. Now have
C.E. Swift here from BKW to finish up.
We hope Ted doesn't get lost inBLF - may
be the boys there better take care of him
for a few weeks.
KINSTON - Well,we broke our old recoid
of passengers boarded for the month o f
October-boarded 326,which is very good
we think as we only have two flightsthat
we can sell. As it stood, the month of
December 1954 was our best month with
323 boarded. With Thanksgiving and
Christmas just around the corner, we are
looking forward to boarding from 300 to
500. Of course, it will mean a lot of hard
work and long hours to do so. Just get out
and plug and let the Public know that they
have airl ine service. Everywhere you go
and look you have a good "Prospect."
A few days ago we had the pleasure of
having Mr. Harold Warner, Traffic Rep.
from RDU, down to visit us. Mr. Warner
and Mr. Allen, Station Manager of our
Station, got out and did some mighty fine
work. It should tell during the months of
Nov. and Dec. by traffic boarded out of
KSN. Glad to have you down, Harold. We
would like to hove you visit us more often.
Took a trip to ORF last week. Had a very
nice time. Drove up in my old 1936Chevy.
Sounds odd driving, doesn't it? Didn'twant
to take a chance of going NSA as had the
family along. Five N^'s, and with ROA
boarding 200 passengers a day, wouldn't
have had much of a chance of getting through.
LONDON-CORBIN - Our station manager,
Ted Arnold, has been transferred to BLF as
manager of that station. Ted,we are glad
of your promotion; at the same time we are
sorry to see you leave. We hope and be
lieve you will make good at your new post.
Vize Dotson, Chief Agent LEX, is to be
manager of LOZ. Glad to have you with
us, Vize.
Carl Simpson has just returned from a tour
of duty at HKY. Been down there as va
cation relief. Bill, Jerry, and Gene, it
was nice working with you fellows.
During part of his vacation. Bill Isenberg
of HKYcame up for a visit with Ted. Come
again. Bill.
Sorry to hear of Sue Best's illness. She is
daughter of Bob Best of KSN. Hope you
get we 11 soon. Sue.
