LOUISVILLE (Cont'd.)
and Bob Gilbert, Operations; and Mrs.
Ruth Covington, Communications. A good
bunch of kids whom we welcome whole
heartedly to our PAI family.
We still have a few old reliables such as
"Smiley" Brown, who, minus his choppers,
is singing the praises of A. B. " Happy "
Chandler. Delayed congratulations are
due Smiley and Jean with their first add
ition ...the same goes for Bruce and Virginia
Parrish's latest visit from the stork
Preston Gregory is quite a bouncer for 8
weeks old. While we're dealing on the
latest "extra sections" of the "Bird", we
must not leave out the new beauty queen
of PAl/SDF,Miss Kayla Rainey, ten-week-
old daughter of newcomer Jim Rainey and
wife, Barbara.
Deeper into the inner-circle of old timers
we find Parker Haley, the Hoosier Hotshot,
and Jean Wil 1 iams(now Mrs.WiI liam Eaton
per the recent merger with E^-operations
agent. Bill Eaton).
We have recently welcomed an additional
service to SDF: Ozark Air Lines, with two
flightsdaily between SCF and FUK. NRSA's
take notice - here's your chance to see
the "Duke of Paducah."
In the near future we will witness the in
auguration of direct SDF-LGA service by
EAL, TWA and AAL.
We had the pleasure of chatting with an
old comrade from TRI, Fat BoyPickel, who
was passing through on his way from LAX.
Said he enjoyed several days in Sunny
California.
Our best wishes go to former SDF agent,
Walt Jocobs, now on duty at CVG-C and

LYNCHBURG -We finallymade it inOct-
ober.. .boarded our first 1000 passengers ,
to be exact, 1067. I believe there were
two factors that helped us to make the
goal. First, people seem to be turning to
air travel more and more, and second,
October was an excellent month weather-
wise. Don't believe we had more than 3
days of actually bad weather.
Looking forward to that steak dinner, with
all the trimmings. If the month of Novem -
ber holds up as faros weather is concerned.
we are looking forward to our biggest
month yet. The big day this month will be
November 23, as we will board in the
neighborhood of 125 - 150 col lege girls.
We have two big colleges here, and the
majority of the students travel by air. If
□ II goes well, we should hit 1250 at least.
The station wagon sure does come in handy
these days with increasing air travel. Be -
lieve it haspaid for itself already. George
Gilbert went down to RIC for a halloween
party - didn't see him for about four days-
when he came back he had quite a smile
on his face, wonder what went on?
NEW BERN - A little good news from EV^
this month. We have started our spri ng
cleaning a little early this year - maybe
we should say a little late. There is not
much we can do to improve the looks of
our office here except use a little paint
and rearrange the furniture, jf you would
like to know the color we are using forthe
walls, just look at the Atlantic Ocean on
the airl ine map.
Our chief agent, Marvin Mills, leaves
Nov. 5 for a well earned vacation .Marvin

With the Thanksgiving and Christmas rush
es just around the corner, everyone at
ORF-C is getting in vacation time to live
it up a little before the fun begins.
Dot Partridge, formerly Dot Peele, recenh-
ly returned from vacationing and honey -
mooning in Texas and Mexico. Dot really
enjoyed the said fishing in Alcapulco, and
heartily recommends a trip to these spots
for all you fishermen and adventurers.
Peg Strong and husband are at present en
route to phoenix, with intermediate stops,
for two weeks of sightseeing and playing.
Joan Pascarosa is counting the days until
the beginning of her trip to Chicago to
spend a few days to see if the city is
really as windy as they say, among other
things. We have no idea that Joan will
return without one or two hair-raising
experiences to relate, as has been the
case with her past vacations.
We'll take this opportunity to formal I y
welcome and introduce to you Miss Pat
ricia Jones. Pat has already been initiated
into the club by a passenger's request for
the fare from ORF to the Panama Canal .
That's it for now, so until the next time.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
PARKERSBURG - The last Sunday in Oct.
marked open house at Wood County Air
port with approximately 4000 prospective
passengers attending the festivities. The
entire airport was open to the public which
witnessed a model airplane contest and
viewed exhibits by Piedmont, Allegheny
and American Air Lines.
One lucky 12 year old Parkersburg citizen
received a model DC"7 mounted on a Chrome
ash tray from American Air Lines and a
mail carrier from Marietta won two round-
trip tickets to Pittsburgh on Allegheny.
Coit Harris was recently promoted to Chief
Agent and we are confident that he will
handle his duties efficiently. Vacations
will be completed by November 15.
