EXECUTIVE OF THE MONTH
William Wainwright Barber was born in Alexander County, N. C. on March 23, 1922.
After attending schools in Winston-Salem, N. C., he joined Piedmont Aviation as a
stockroom clerk on June 9, 1941 . He soloed In July of 1941 and since that time has
acquired a Commercial Pilot's 1 icense with Multi-Engine, Instructor and Instrument
Following enlistment In the Army Reserves in 1942, Bill was sent to Macon, Georgiaas
Instructor in the Naval War Training Service and returned to Piedmont on June of 1944
to instruct in the Air Force Training program. He was called to active duty as a Cadet
In August, 1944 and remained there until his discharge on December 17, 1945.
On February 20, 1946, Bill married Virginia Betty Simmons and they have two fine
children, W. W.,Jr. better known as Wolne, age 7, and Virginia Betty, 5 years old
and called Ginnie for short. They reside at 2424 Rosewood Avenue In Winston-Salem.
Through Bill's untiring efforts, his keen sense of values and cooperative spirit, we can
truly say that Piedmont has a Purchasing Department of which we can all be proud.

ROLLICK NAMED TO
W. D. Rollick - INT-C, was recently
appointed assistant to the Communications
Coordinator for the Civil Defense Organi
zation of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County
in North Carol ina .
This sub-division is responsible for the
planning, engineering and coordination
of Radio Communications and involves the
utilization of commercial and amateur
personnel and equipment for public service
when disaster strikes.
PIEDMONT BOWLERS WIN TITLE
Piedmont Alrl Ines' bowling team, INT,
losing two of three games to the Elks, cap
tured the Sportsmen's Duckpin Bowling
League first round at the 20th Century
Alleys in Winston-Salem.
Having won 18 out of 27 games thus far
this year,the Airmen held atwo-game lead
going Into the final night of the first round .

J. Lambert, Airlines Stockroom; Carl Kuhl-
man and WInford FIshel, Accounting.

Betty Caudill was considered to be in the
running for "Miss Piedmont of 1-/56" at
Winston Hall's Halloween Party. Other
PAI employees were present.
Newest employee InDCAIsJoan Watson,
born in N. J., has 1 Ived in ATL, calls
INT home - thinks she is going to like
DCA. This Is Joan's first job as she was
a 1955 graduate of Reynolds High School,
Ed WisnleskI, planning Big Game Hunt in
NYC, came to DCA from CMH and beei
with PAI approximately six years.
Shirlee Anderson vacationed in Montana.
She hails from Lewlstown, been with PAI
nine months and came from CMH, too.
Winston Hall, from Sandord, N.C. has
been with PAI four years.
