NEW BERN (Contd.) full week of aviation pubiicity is planned at the New Bern Airport. The first three days will be "-ichoaj days" for all students in the New Bern area and the lastfourdays will be used as "demonstration doys"for all types of new aircraft. Watch for the announcement of the exact dotes. Sherman Burroughs and Dave Morrison have started a new hobby of model building. They plan to launch their first free-flight December 10. Marvin Mills has returned from his honey moon vacation and is taking the kiddings from the airport personnel very well. We made quota in November and are look ing forward to a big month in December. NORFOLK R. T. Powell PAl/ORF will receive the Good Citizen ship plaque Award for their generous con tribution to the Community Chest. With 100% contributing $236.50, which took them over their quota. Three new members have joined PAI here. Miss Joan Tatem and Jackie Pauleson , both of ORF, and Robert V^l ie of Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Norfolk's loss.. .Roanoke'sgain. Margorie VanPelt has transferred to ROA so she can be with her husband, who is a student at V.P.I. Mechanic and Mrs. Tommy Allmanwish to announce the arrival of their daughter, Kathleen Alice, Novembers, 1955. In the last edition, I announced that Art Whittaker was in the market for a new car, well, he got it. Whitt also was paid a visit by Mr. McCall the day after the purchase. The audit came out O. K. Miss Ann Knight, ORF-C, will leave PAI on the 9th of Dec. but will make her final booking on the 17th, when she becomes the bride of Lt.Louis McLeod. Good luck, Ann, on your new assignment. With this year drawing to a close, thegang here in ORF wish you one and all a Merry, Merry Cnristmas and a Happy New Year. RICHMOND- C. Morris October was a good month and we finished that off with a bang-up Halloween party. There were a few out of town guests and a good time was had by all. November was a much better month, and we're proud that we went over our quota a 1 ittle bit (about 111). Hopes are for a con tinuous increase in passengers so we can mix with the big boys again soon. With the loss ofE.E.Pickel to ROA, and a shuffle of a couple fellows here, we have had the help trimmed down a bit. By now you all know about Bob Rose's boost up the ladder. We are pleased mostly because we didn't real Iy lose him and we hope he doesn't have to be out of RjC too much. Happy too we were for Ray Crouse. There is no doubt that they both can do their new jobs well and they have backing of all the stations. What have come to pass couldn't have happened to two nicer men. We were pleased to have Mr. Davis and Mr. Beasley drop in on our Station Miset- ing in October. Mr. Davis was kind enough to straighten out some of the rumors about planes, routings, etc. Now that we have o trouble shooter here, we will only see the INT brass when we go there. Come again, Mr. Davis, and anyone else will be welcomed anytime. The busy Christmas Season has already start ed and has promises of being terrific, and though we may not have gotten around to wishing it personally, here's hoping that the spirit of glad tidings, peace, and giving, born so long ago with Christ i s with you all during such agloriousseason. May the New Year be prosperous for all. T R I CITIES- Roy Mumpower The other night Flight 54 arrived with ship #967. As you know, this ship has no nose cargo bin. Well, the Captain said the agent at one of the stations came running up with the nose stand and said they would have to remove 200 pounds account they were overloaded, and the Captain said, "Okay, take thespare radio parts and the co-pilot and lets go." We really have our funny problems when jt goes through . | thinK everyone here is resting up for the holiday rush and also the holiday party that we are planning to have,as the excuse for the news being on the scarce side. We would like to wish everyone a very, very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy New Year from all of us at Tri City. WASHINGTON- Katherine Fishel Georgia McKee, our communicationist, enclosed in a letter to her young son, a teletype message relating to thedeparture of the eagle from INT. She explained to him;"This message is about our pay checks. They call them eagle because they fly to us and then fly away. That is what it means when people say money flies." All too true I 1 Is it really true that wedding bells are going to ring for Betty Caudill before too long ? Along about the time this reaches you. Bill Hamilton will be pacing the floor of the prospective father's waiting room in TRI. Bill is from Blountvil le, Tenn. and has been with PAI three years in TRI and DC A. % PIE DMON ITOR Published and Printed by PIEDMONT AVIATION, INC.
