CHARLESTON -
Wm. Carey Cash, new CHWstation mana
ger, has assumed his many duties. Not a
stranger to CHW Bill began his job with
PAI Feb. 20,1949when the "old" terminal
building was in use. InSept. 1950,when
the new CHW terminal building was com
pleted,Bill transferred to ROAcrd it proved
to be quite an asset totheir family. When
CHO opened. Bit! became their station
manager and proved to everyone "there's
business in that ole' flat country" and
now to CHW to replace Jack Kelley, new
First Officer for PAI.
CHW welcomes you. Bill, your wife and
son.
It's been nice to have company through
the month. C.H.McCall was here and we
enjoyed his belated visit ~ nice to see
Ken Ross and Turby. . .not to forget Baker
Slater, John Johnson and George Atte-
berry. Also visited w i t h Everhart and
Messick while transferring from 14 to 22.
CHW's welcome mat is always out.
Jack Kelley paid us a short visit- believe
me he might have been homesick for h is
Mom's cooking. Those of you who have
visited in the "Kelley Homestead" know
that it's mighty fine to dine there.
Raul Kelley is up, walking and driving
(cast or no cast). Now on vacation, h e
hopes to be back on the job by June 17.
Frank "Tycoon" Burns is riding high these
days. Frank and a friend from the local
gas company opened a miniature golf
course in Kanawha City, .the only one in
the City limits. Really a fine place to go
these evenings.. .and a "tricky" course .
Frank designed each hole and "business
is booming"; if we'll just have a summer
day, everything will be fine.
Bell Lines had their usual charter to IND
Races and the trip was successful, Driver
of Mr. Fred Scalviās car (manager of Bell
Lines) was Roger Ward - placed seventh.
Denver Fisher also drove his shiny "Vic"
up to watch the races.
Summer is real I y here and we 're glad....
it's been a long ole' winter, .so we plan to
sell lots of "Sun & Fun." On your way
down to the beach, stop in and see us.

FAYETTEVILLE -
First wewant to introduce our new reserva-
tionist, Mrs. Opal Taylor. Opal is a very
likeable person and we are very happy to
have her with us.
Well, it looks like we will soon have two
eligible pilots from FAY - D.K. Jones and
Bill Wooten(our manager). Jones is just
a beginner and Bill is getting checked out
again. The other day Jones was determined
to see Bill make a few landings so he goes
atop the building so he would not miss any-
th ing. Good luck to both you fellows.
It seems as if the new car fever has hit FAY.
Several of the agents have them. Horace
Bryant - new Chevey, Frank Beasley - new
Studebaker (a president no less) Way Ion
Johnson - a new Ford and a Mercury (one
for himandone forthewife). Sure hope this
fever isn't catching because yours truly
plans to drive the Little Ole' Ford until it
becomes an antique.
It was nice seeing Bruce Parrish and family
again. They came over and boarded aflight
for SDF. You should come more often, it
is always nice seeing old friends.
Betty Ward spent the week end at MRH.
She reported a wonderful time, and from
what Betty said fishing was really great,
she had Good Luck on that trip.
Extend to all of you a cordial welcome to
visit us.
NORFOLK -
Would you recognize these men as the ORF
Maintenance staff?
With suits and ties on, in place of greasy
coveralls, they make a group of very dis
tinguished business men,don't you agree?
Those included In the picture are:
N . Y. Webb, W. L. Hendricks, K . E .Stevenf.,
C. E . Baker, F . R. Barnes, G.W. Overstreet,
L.D.Mayhew, F.L.Bussey, F.T. Allman,
F. R. Pilley and J. E. Garrett.
LONDON - CORBIN -
Jim Minnix, agent, has become the owner
of a Cadillac. He is the immediate past
president of the LOZ Jaycees and at the
convention a few weeks ago was presented
with a national award for outstanding civic
service. He also made a TV appearance
in SDF last week, to promote the fly fish
deal that fs going on here. We all recom
mend LOZ for fishing.
Carl Simpson, senior agent, isout oftown.
He has been with PAI for six years so is no
stranger. Other duties of Carl Include be
ing the present secretary of LOZ Jaycees,
and d riving that new Plymouth station wag
on around.
Dotson Is only station manager,so he can't
or won't trade cars, although he Is treasurer
of the LOZ Jaycees and awarded the Jay-
cee of the month. You can see that PAI
at LOZ is 100% in all civic affairs. Other
than being employed by PAI the three of
us have thirty boys that are supposed to be
learning how to become Scouts. Lucky is
the station manager for LOZ - he is put
on all committees, and attends all the
civic meetings, soft eh?
(Editor's note: Sorry we were unable to
use the four pictures of the LOZ personnel
need more contrast .)
