AAAINTENANCE TINTYPE
One of the famil jar faces in the INT-Maintenance Hargar is that of Ross Hampton Easley,
who is more cffectionateiy known as "Rope." Born In Stokes County, N. C. on August
26, 1916, "Rope" attended schools near his home. He served in the Air Force for a
little over seven years,during which time his tour of duty included an 18-month assign
ment as Line Chief with the 47th Material Squadron in Australia plus twenty-four B-17
missions in the European Theatre during World War ||.
After his discharge, became with Piedmont Airl ines as a junior mechanic and since
1951 has been in charge of Airplane Overhaul .
"Rope", wife |na and three year old daughter, Jettie Mae, reside on Route 2, Walnut
Cove, N. C. and he says that farming, raising chickens and cows are bis principal
hobbies.

ed N2001 A, a DC-3, in the Readi ng Air Show
today and was adjudged the "Flagship of the
Executive Aircraft Fleet",having garnered
three first prizes and $2,400.00 in prize
money. The categories for which this air
craft was judged best in its class and the
amount of award were as follows:
Exterior - $400. Best Equipped -$800.
Best in its Class - $1200.
