Station Managers shown in the above picture, gathered at Winston-Salem recently for o two day course of instruction on Air Route Traffic Control. The session began with introductory remarks by Bill Hobart, Director of Training, re lating to the beginning and growth of the U. S. Air Route Traffic Control System. This was followed by an explanation of present and future problems of control dealing with the newer high speed aircraft. Various problems were discussed and there is no doubt that everyone had a greater appreciation and understanding for the people behind the scenes in the Traffic Control picture upon their return to the stations. A training aid which was recently designed and built by the Electronics Maintenance section, simulated an actual station communications facility and provided the instructor with a valuable tool in explaining procedures and operator technique in a realistic manner.
