CHARLOTTE . . .
(Continued fronn page 3)
TRI-TYS. Pete is married and he and his
wife, Juyne, are the proud parents of two
boys, Kevin 6 and Darin 3.
Although Pete carries a heavy schedule, he
never is without time to help us with our
problems whether personal or Company.
He has been with Piedmont from the begin
ning and is one to know that Piedmont Atr-
Jines is pretty hard to beat.
November was a very good month for board
ings, but we didn*t do what we expected.
The weather was pretty rough and we lost
a lot of passengers due to misconnectlons
and cancelled flights. Work stayed at a
good pace and we were busy handling inter
line reservations from our other stations.
Everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and we
all had some time off to enjoy the turkey.
Weatherwise, it looks like a rough winter
for operations. ATC is a headache here
and causes us to lose a lot of passengers.
We hope this can be improved next year
when we get radar.
Nan Dabbs, after five years, decided to
make the trip to CVG and get a new uni
form. Not sure of "Yankee" country, she
took Lou Ramsey along for moral support.
Guess she doesn't trust her "Rebel" friends
either. Nan received her new uniform. The
color looks good. Too bad she couldn't
get it on. It was a little tight here and
there and most everywhere.
Like to welcome Agent R. S. Hall to CLT.
He comes to us after working six months
with Lake Central at YIP. His home is in
CLT so the change from Lake Central to the
best airline was a wise move for him.
Also would like to welcome the fl ight crews
to our recently established crew bcee .
Captains Eisler and Manos, First Officers
Foreman and Parker. We welcome you to
CLT.
Christmas and New Years are just around the
corner. Everyone here is pinching pennies
for a Merry Christmas as Santa*s cargo is
going to cost a little more this year. We
all hope you have aMerry Christmas and a
Happy New Year.
A home town is a place where they always
wonder how you got as far as you have.
GREENSBORO . . .
. . . W. R. Wiggs
Vacations are over and I think the
only one here that really took a vacation
was James Vestal, who went to San Diego.
We would like to welcome our new agent,
Lyle Cox. Lyle comes to us from Sparta ,
N. C. and the way he is catching on to
the procedures, he*s going to make one of
the best agents yet.
S.Y. Pierce, our former Chief Agent, has
been promoted to station manager in DAN,-
best of luck to you S. Y. in your new job
and we know you are capableof doing the
job well. Also, we would like to congratu
late C. C. Kiger on his^promotion from
agent to chief. Best of luck C. C.
Glad to have Jim Fouts visit us the other
day.
Had a nice get-to-gether at Vernon Moore*s
home and man you should have tasted those
steaks that E. F. Scott and D. E. Moore
cooked. Also, don't want to forget those
delicious home mode rolls that Vernon's
wife made, they were also delicious.
Our station got a face lifting this summer,
thanks to our hard work and manager Vernon
Moore, we are really proud of it. Work is
really progressing on our new terminal build
ing and we hope to be in by April or May of
next year.
In closing. Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year to all.
HUNTINGTON . . .
... A. Corfer & J. Dallas
With Santa's ETA only three weeks away,
HTW station took on the "New Look"-
decorations by Jim Dallas and all the gang,
holly, greenery and mistletoe to make us
very beautiful and very much in the Christ
mas mood.
Bob Waugh, our good looking, tough Ex-
Marine was as anxious as a six year old to
know what Santa (his wife Jo Ann) was
putting in his stocking. Weknewall along
that it would be the much desired Hi-Fi.
Jim VanHorn was sadly missed at our party.
Sorry he couldn't make it but the welcome
- 4 -
mat will always be out for Jim.
Charleston and Huntington exchanged crews
in orderthatall agents of each station could
enjoy their individual Christmas parties.
Our sincere thanks to our good neighbors
for their gracious cooperation.
Bill Hamilton and wife Margie are active
members in local CAP programs. Bill is a
Captain in the group while Mrs. Bill carries
the rank of 1st/ Lt. Who out- ranks at
home. Bill ?
B ig news for Huntington J The CAA has
approved a Control Tower for HTW's new
terminal building. The recommendation
was made by CHW CAA Chief Bill Butler.
Bill became a good friend to all the PAI
personnel ( as well as the other airlines)
while making his traffic check here.
A Merry Christmas to you all. We would
like to give our favorite toast to everyone,
for the coming year - "May the worst of
the coming year be only as bad as the best
of the year past. "
LEXINGTON . . .
. . . Jim Clark
As most of you heard, LEX was chosen as
the meeting place for the Interline Sales
Conference on Dec, 3 and 4. Nearly every
airline was represented and the highlight
of the meeting was the selection of our
General Sales Manager Bill McGee, as
President of the conference.
Those attending the meeting from our Com
pany were Messrs. T. H. Davis, McGee,
Jim Bradley, T. L.Martin of INT; Messrs.
Crowe, Slater and secretary Mrs. Veda
Breeze of CVG; Mr. Wathen of SDF and
Mr', S. Folger of DC A, We were sorry
that Hilly Jacobs of SDF wcc unable to be
here for the meeting.
Something deserving morethan just a word
is the welcome that each airl ine representa
tive received upon his arrival in LEX.
Gordon Wagner was responsible for theidea
and in making the necessary arrangements
to have it work smoothly. As the repre
sentatives arrived, they were taken to the
Compbell House by car and while enroute.
Radio Station WLEX would interrupt their
program with an announcement to welcome
