TRI-CITIES . . . . , . Don Shanks A record day was had by us on November 27, when we boarded 262 passengers. According to Don Edmondson, District Sales Manager. This is unofficial but as far as we can ascertain, it was the highest number of passengers boarded by any one P AI station for one day. If anyone else on the system has got us beat, please let us know. I understand this was also a record day for the system. Congratulations are in order for PAI systemwide for their efforts to better themselves. The deer of this area have had it made,so to speak, this year. We all sort of felt sorry for the poor dears when agents Sluder, Johnson, Pickel, Norris, Mil ler and Ward headed for the hills, but after a week of searching and hunting, then, with the ex ception of Miller, not even scratching a deer, we came to this conclusion -DEER ARE SMARTER THAN AGENTS. Dick Mill er came the closest of al I when he down ed an albino deer in the hills of North Carolina. The brains here tell me thatto get an albino deer is once in a lifetime chance and is quite abighonor. Dick shot the deer and it fell, but as he walked over to it, the deer received new energy and bolted off into the woods. Due to darkness he was unable to stay on the trail of the deer and was unable to pick up the trail the next morning. Statistics show that out of the thirty milliondeer in the states, there are approximately only thirty white albino deer,so you can see the honor in getting a completely white deer. Hack Van Huss, a five year agent, was married on November 27 to a local beauty, the former Miss Elaine Carrier. All of us here wish Hack and his better half all the luck and success possible to newlyweds. After months of studying and burning the midnight oil, John Owen and yours truly final Iy passed the commercial written exam. John has about five hundred hours of fly ing and is now getting ready for his comm ercial check ride. I have a lot fewer hours, but hope to make it some day. By the time you read this we will have had our Christmas Party and headaches will have ceased. Plans at present are that it wil I be at the Frontier Club and we wil I have fried chicken. Sounds good, huh????? Will let you know the results. Among our distinguished visitors this month was the lovely Miss Evelyn Fitzhugh of RIC;Ed Best^DSS from LYH, Rick Almond, SM from TYS;Messrs. Turbyville, McGee, Brown and Bradley from INT-E and many others. We certainly enjoy your visits and when you or yours come through TRI, we invite you in for a chat and a hand shake.
