DEMON DEACONS of Wake Forest College flew Piedmont on
a Charter flight from Winston-Salem to Tallahassee, Florida, where
they beat the Florida State Seminoles 22 to 20. Just before departure
were Wake captains Buck Jolly (left) and Neil McLean in a huddle with
coach Paul Amen (above). The charter included two DC-3's, one of
which flew non-stop both ways.

LOVELY QUEEN of the Putt Putt Golf Courses around the world
is Mary Lynn Sharpe of Lenoir City, Tennessee. Mary Lynn, who is 19
and a sophomore at Middle Tennessee College, visited Winston-Salem
shortly after her 1960 reign officially opened. Here she is presented
the key to the city by Winston-Salem Mayor Marshall Kurfees.
