The Sterling Finance Company in Columbia had a sterling display in its window recently set up by Sales Representative Don Weydert. The display featured Piedmont's special fare offers and the resort areas on the system. PIEDMONT* AIRLINES smm PIEDMONITOR Senator Barry Goldwater eyes a Piedmont flight bag that ISO Station Manager Wade Allen is preparing to present to him. Watching the proceeding is Dan Lilley (right). Secretary of the Kinston-Lenior Airport Commission. Senator Goldwater was in the area for a speaking engagement before the Kinston Junior Chamber of Commerce. r SI i Dr. James B. Eades (right), head of Aerospace Engineering Department at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, greets Col. John “Shorty" Powers, the man whose voice is known to millions as the spokesman for the Mercury Man in Space Program. Col. Powers had just arrived in Roanoke, and after the photograph was taken left for V.P.I. where he was scheduled to make a speech. i f "The women in Kansas City are pretty — but so are you!" At least that's what Kansas City Mayor H. Roe Bartle seems to be saying as he talks with Stewardess Judy Canaday. Mayor Bartle was preparing to take Flight 805 out of Baltimore to Charlottesville, where he attended a reunion at Fork Union Military Academy.
