PAGE FOUR THE PIE 'ONITOR SE A.: BER, 1969 Interesting Interlining (Continued from Page Three) Christmas Party The 1969 World Airlines Christmas Party will be held at Hotel Sahara in Las Vegas December 1-14 with more than 10,000 airline employees expected to attend. A wider range of activities and greater participation by Hotel Sahara are planned in a number of areas. Parties this year will take on a more swinging atmosphere with the addition of dancing to music provided by a top rock group, while other cocktail parties and bloody mary affairs will feature music by hall-of-fame jazz artist Page Cavanaugh. This year, for the first time, the Sahara’s sister hotel, neighboring Hotel Thunderbird, will play an important role in the activities with special events, parties and programs, much of it geared to day time fun. Airline representatives have indicated greater participation in the form of additional prizes, hospitality suites and other activities. United Air Lines, for example, will again stage two major events including a golf tournament (further details below) and beauty pageant. Virtually the entire Sahara Hotel will be blocked off for the party. More details will be announced later. Airline golfers are again invited to play and win in United Air Lines’ Annual Airline Employees Golf Tournament at the Sahara-Nevada Country Club, December 1 through 13, Las Vegas, Nevada. Among the many and unusual prizes offered are positive passes to Hawaii for five winners and their spouses or other eligibles, as well as trophies and golfing equipment items. This is the fifth year for United’s popular golfing event. As previously, it will be played every day throughout the Hotel Sahara’s Annual Airline Convention and Christmas Party. Special discounts will be made to all airline entrants. The greens fee is reduced to $3.00 ... the charge for a required cart (for two) is slashed to $8.00 ... and the five minute ride from the hotel to the course is free. So whether golfer or duffer, every Interliner can play his or her way to Hawaii. Complete details will be available at the Christmas Party registration desk. Hawaiian Holidays Island Holidays of Hawaii has announced that special airline em ployee rates will be in effect from November 1, 1969 through December 18, 1969 at all Island Holidays Resort Hotels. Airline employees and their spouses will be able to stay at Island Holidays’ Hotel King Kamehameha, Kona; Royal Lahaina, Maui; Hanalei Plantation, Coco Palms and Waiohai, Kauai for $12 single and $14 double, or at the Poipu Beach Hotel, Kauai and the Holiday Isle Hotel, Honolulu for $10 single and $12 double. Hotels A La Hilton Bargain packages are being offered by five Hilton International hotels in the Caribbean to all airline personnel. In addition to offering an opportunity for lots of fun in the sun, there is another feature that all the packages have in common . . . that is, the inviting bargain price of $12.00 a day per person, based on double occupancy ($14.00 for a single room), which includes the cost of accommodations, plus sumptuous breakfasts and dinners. The exciting packages, being offered by Hilton hotels in Barbados, Curacao, Dorado (I^uerto Rico), Trinidad and St. Thomas (Virgin Isles), are available during the months of August and September at the Curacao Hilton and at the Virgin Isle Hilton, and during August, Septem ber and October at the other three hotels. Golf buffs will choose the Dorado Hilton with its spectacular seaside 18-hole golf course, plus horseback riding academy and other sporting facilities, whereas those looking for a restful time at the beach with a variety of water sports may wish to look at Barbados and Curacao. Compulsive shoppers find a veritable paradise in the duty free shops in both Curacao and St. Thomas, while the gaiety of steel bands and calypsos and the excellent opportunity for sight-seeing will undoubtedly attract interliners to Trinidad. In addition, barbecues, cocktail parties, floor shows, boating, cock tail cruising and tennis are among other features being offered in the different packages. Reservations at any of the five hotels for these bargain interline packages can be made through any Hilton Reservation Service office simply by requesting the interline package and giving your name and department on Piedmont letterhead.
