PAGE TWO THE PIEDMONITOR MAY, 1971 momonmm Piedmont Aviation, Inc. Smith Reynolds Airport Winston-Salem, N. C. Betsy Allen, Editor Gues/ Editorial HOW CAN I HELP Editor’s Note—The following essay was written by Lawrence ].. Steirer, agent in Fayetteville as part of the agent incentive program there. More details can be found in the Long Lines column on page three. I could help improve Customer Relations and Passenger Service through my job by fol lowing these simples rules of courtesy. 1. Always be ready to help the passenger when he walks up to our counter. 2. Be attentive. Show the passenger you really care about him. 3. Realize that while in uniform, I am Piedmont Airlines, and act accord ingly. 4. Be helpful. Offer yourself without re serve. Many persons are too proud or frightened to ask for assistance. 5. Use the passenger’s name as much as possible. Personal recognition is essen tial for repeat business. 6. Take extra precautions to see that all small details are completed. If unable to complete yourself, be sure to follow up later. 7. Keep yourself clean, neat, and have pride and confidence in your appear ance and work. 8. Remember the phrase—“If you can’t find time to do it right the first time, when will you find time to do it over?” 9. Have pride in your company and don’t be ashamed to express it. Talk in fa vor of your company at all times— don’t drag it down by thoughtless words or deeds. If you don’t like what it does or stands for, do yourself a fa vor — LEAVE. 10. Be conscious of the needs of your fel low employees. Offer a helping hand whenever you can. If you can’t say anything nice—don’t say anything at all.
