page ten PIEDMONITOR December, 1974 piedmont plays GOLF at the 1974 World Airline Golf Championships. Skip Jones, left, Wilmington First Officer, received a case of Western Airlines champagne from Jim Gardner of Hawaiian Air for being closest to the pin on the 16th hole during the first day's competition at the recent tourna ment held at Wailea, Maui. Joel Gibson, also of Wilmington, was the other Piedmont player. Gibson and 'ones finished in fifth place out of 100 players. r^ll SOFTBALL and the home office team was the big winner. The Second Annual Piedmont Softball Classic was held in Charlotte this year. The CRO came in second. Other teams were from Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati and Greensboro. The champions included front row from left, Kim Long, Loney Edmunds, Don Craver, John Barney, Joe Lunsford and Ed White. The back row, in the same order, Carl Parks, Gary Howell, Fred Cooke, David Kiser, Don Fulton and Larry Howell. Alva Parris wasn't on ha nd for the picture taking. I I ii'm MORE GOLF at the Annual Piedmont Golf Tournament. The winner, at left, was Joe Moorefield of Winston-Salem. Joel Gibson was the runner-up. This year's company golf gathering was held at the Arcadian Shores course at Myrtle Beach. The winners and the runners-up, by flights, are pictured with spaces left for those who were absent at picture taking time.
