Robert Reagan, retired employee,
INT, was one of 110 Winston-Salem
residents who visited Peine, Ger
many, in April as part of an
exchange program sponsored by
Friendship Force, a national non
profit organization. During the
same two weeks, 71 Germans, resi
dents of Peine, stayed in Winston-
Salem homes.

Freddie Masencup, Planning, INT,
has been elected president of the
Winston-Salem Business and Pro
fessional Women’s Club. She took
office June 1.
A catalog listing items for sale
with the Piedmont logo will be
available beginning this summer,
thanks to Carelines.
A spiral or looseleaf binder will be
sent from Carelines to each
department and station with pho
tos and prices of items ranging
from golf shirts, windbreakers, and
garment bags to tennis racket cov
ers, highball glasses, and Piedmont
license plates.

The Revenue Accounting Depart
ment in Winston-Salem is moving
in July to another building to help
alleviate a severe space problem in
the General Office. The depart
ment’s 120 employees will be
located at the new Republic Square
office complex located at the corner
of University Parkway and Silas
Creek Parkway at Northpoint Shop
ping Center. The move will be made
over a weekend to avoid disruption
in mail and phone calls.

The Piedmont Ski Club closed
out the ski season with a four-day
outing in April at Keystone, Colo
rado. Sixty-eight employees
attended, 54 of whom participated
in the National Ski Races (NAS-
TAR). Eight won silver medals and
10, bronze.
In the women’s division. Flight
Attendant Nelson Phillips, ILM,
took first place; Flight Attendant
Elaine Albritton, ORF, second place:

Grimes, ATL, third.
Dan Alman, flight attendant, ILM,
took first place in the men’s divi
sion; Lester Beaucham, first officer,
INT, received the second place
trophy; and ATL Agent Supervisor

end. Employees Ann Ashton, Hutch

and Bill Felt gave out more than
2,000 candy eggs while posing as
the Easter bunny. . .CRO employ
ees sponsored an Easter egg hunt
for over 100 children who take part
in programs sponsored by the
Downtown Church Center. Employ

On May 14, Piedmont Flight 368
from Houston to Charlotte carried a
mother and her daughter: both had
never flown before. What’s so
unusual about that? The mother
was 103 years old and her daughter,
82. The passengers were inter
viewed by Charlotte media then
presented with a cake by Piedmont
employees.

The Piedmont Airlines Best Ball
Golf Tournament was held for Win
ston-Salem and Greensboro em
ployees May 2 and 3 at Bethania
Golf Club. Leonard Jackson, Stock
room, INT, and Garris Eklwards,
Accounts Payable, INT, won the
championship flight. Leaders in the
first flight were Joe Moorefield and
David Baity, both Maintenance,
INT. The second flight was won by
W. D. Hall and R. L. Gordon, both
Pilot Training, INT. Agent Bill Tise,
INT, scored an ace on the third hole,
125yards, during the tournament.

Jane Weston, Employee Benefits,
INT, received the Common Stock
Adviser Award from the Junior
Achievers ofWinston-Salem, Inc., in
May. She counseled approximately
20 students who made up the JA
company. Piedmont Productions,
on accounting procedures. Weston,
along with five other Piedmont
employees, each gave more than
130 hours of volunteer time to the
project this year.
