The Up-And-Coming Airline 7 people & places Ron Evans, lead avionics technician. DCA, has received a BA. degree from the University of the State of New York through its External Degree Program. Ninety-two people from 14 cities on Piedmont's system participated in Piedmont Airline’s Fourth Annual Bowling Tournament March 20 in Louisville. Mike Car man, SDF, coordinated the event. The 1983 tournament will be held in Altanta. Woody Woodruff CRO, has won the Class A Division’s singles cham pionship in the annual Virginia- Carolina Wheelchair Bowli ng Asso ciation Tburnament at Richmond in March. Woodruff, Forsyth Coun ty’s number one wheelchair bowler, earned $210 and championship trophies for both scratch and hand icap scores. World Airline Road Race September 18, 1982 Golden Gate Park San Francisco 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) Interested in participating? There will be two divisions — an open division and a masters divi sion —for both men and women. A trophy will also be awarded to the airline with the most employees running. Write Phil Crojton, ATLr SS.Jora registration form and additional information. Attention Piedmont runners! Make plans now to participate in Atlanta’s annual Peachtree Road Race on July 4. The Number One Airline carried the Number One basket ball team to the NCAA finals in New Orleans in March. Cecil Exxum leads the Carolina Tarheels as the team deplanes at RDU following its national victory. Behind Exxum is Jimmy Black. Pied mont also carried N.C. Stale, the Uni versity qfLouisuille. the University of Vir ginia. and Boston College on charters during the playoffs. Six Carolina alumni groups flew Piedmont charters to New Orleans. New items added To Carelines Catalog Two new items are now available in the Carelines’ employee catalog from Piedmont’s Purchasing Department. A set of six 1 Tounce glasses with the Piedmont logo etched on the side can be purchased for $ 19 plus tax. Leather luggage tags sell for S1.50 plus tax. Send your orders for these items to Aileen Ashley, A220, INT. If your order is $ 10 or more, you may choose to pay through payroll deduction. Many additional new items will be offered in late spring. Cigarette lighters, racing jackets, caps and shirts, new license plates, beach towels, and women’s beach cover- ups will be among the new addi tions to the catalog. More informa tion on each item and order forms will be mailed shortly. And don’t forget the many items already available through the catalog! If you’re a golfer, Carelines has golf bag covers, putters, and a golf umbrella bearing Piedmont’s name. For the tennis set, tote bags and a racquet cover are available. You can also dress in style with a Piedmont t-shirt, coach’s jacket, gym shorts, visor, and much more. Catalogs have been distributed to all stations, maintenance bases, crew bases, and reservations offices as well as to the departments in the General Office. Items are for sale at cost plus handling and postage. m Pilot Eric Staton, ILM, is one of 75 individuals assisting the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in a fundraising drive to raise $400,000 to air-condition the university's Ti"ask Coliseum.
