PIEDMONT AIRLINES Winston-Salem, North Carolina WEEKLY TRAFFIC lyiEMQRANDUM #21 December 22. 1948 1. TT PAPER -- V/e would like to bring to your attention again to watch your TT paper supply and ''WHEN YOUR SUPPLY GETS DOM TO FOUR—THAT'S THE TIME TO ORDER MORE.'* Your requisition for this paper will be ordered from the vendor in Philadelphia and shipped to you direct, therefore, you may expect 30 to 45 days for delivery. A very small supply for emergency purposes will be main tained in INT; however, we do not wish requisitions to be filled from this supply. 2. We are experiencing considerable difficulty with our battery carts not being properly charged when needed for starting our aircraft. It would be appreci ated if you will take immediate steps to see that your batteries are kept properly charged at all times. If you are having some difficulty in keeping your batteries properly charged, contact someone in your city immediately who is familiar with batteries and have them checked to determine the cause for your battery not taking proper charge. If it is found that the battery is o.k., then check connections thoroughly and have the solenoid switch checked as we have found some of these switches to be defective and causing battery to become discharged. If it is found that your batteries have a weak cell or are defective in any way, contact Storage Department at INT for replacement. (if your switch does not have a definite click when operated with juice on it, it is a pretty good indication that the switch is defective.) 3. NOVEMBER DELAY REPORT - You fellows take a look at the delay report sent to all stations recently by Mr. Turbiville and I am sure that you will join me in con gratulating GSB. No delays at that station for the month. DAN is also to be congratulated as they only had a total of 3 minutes of time on the ground, and I am sure that those 3 minutes were used to the fullest advantage. Yes sir, those are two mighty good records. Who else can do as well? 4. REPORTING DELAYS -- As all of you fellows know, Mr, Turbiville is making a de- ,>• tailed chart of all delays at all stations. In order to get a clear picture of the situation over the entire system, it is imperative that you charge de lays properly on the plane dispatch. Let's use a little more care with this and get them right, 5. FOR YOUR INFORMATION - We have just been advised by TWA that, until further notice, Wichita, Kansas and all stations east of Wichita are not to accept west bound air freight. I assume that this is for the holiday season only and that we will be advised when space will permit the acceptance of this traffic. THIS OFFICE TOSHES TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY OF ‘/WISHING EVERYONE OF YOU A MOST PLEASANT CHRISTl'^S AND TO PASS ON TO YOU THE SINCERE WISH THAT ® SHALL ALL HAVE A HAPPIER 1949.
