PIEDMONT AIRLINES Winston-Salem, North Carolina TRAFFIC i''itSi40RANDUM #31 April 22„1949 1, EASTER BUNNY IS GOOD TO PAI - Although one day late, Easter Travel did bring us a record day Monday the 18th. 321 passengers boarded, surpasses the old record of January 2 by seven. We have had several days in the 290's, but it seems rather difficult to get over that 300 mark. Therefore, when we do make it there are a lot of bright smiles around INTE, 2, PASSING ON INFORMATION I am sure that each of you at one time or another has re ceived a phone call^ perhaps just after you have come on duty and the party on the other end of the line starts off on some involved deal» It may be about a long routing or a mishandled bag, but you can tell immediately that the speaker feels that you are thoroughly familiar with the entire situation. Remember how embarrass ing it was for you to have to announce that you are not the one with whom he or she thinks you are and, furthermorej you do not have the slightest idea what he or she is talking about (not in that exact terminolo gy I'm sure), lou will also remember the usual ai'/kward pause or a little sigh, or perhaps a mild explosion from the other end In any case the conversation loses some thing and is never the same. How much bet- ter it wotAld have been had the fellow you relieved told you the story. Had you been informed you could have carried on. There are a lot of other instances where it is most helpful to know the story = Let's get in the habit of passing information to the fellow relieving us. Make notes if neces= sary, or if convenient, explain the unusual happenings during your tour of duty, those which have not been completed and are apt to be continued on his shift. Give him the chance that you would like to have to do a better job of carrying on, NEW FACES - In order to man the additional schedules effective toy 1^ it was necessary to employ additional First Officerso Gapt, Saunders has just finished putting them through the paces and they are raring to go In order to help you know them, here are their names and their former homess Victory W.
