PIEDMONT AIRLINES
Winston-Salem, North Carolina
TRAFFIC MEMORANDUM §32
April 30. 1949
1. "THIS AND THAT" - Hawaiian Airlines will
be a ticketor under the Universal Air
Travel Plan Agreement, effective May 24.
All American Airways has become a ticket
or and a contractor under this same agree
ment. TIVA has filed a local fare of #3.65
between Allentown/Bethlehem and Lancaster,
Pa. This fare to be effective on or about
June 1,
2. REPORTING FIRES ON TT - There- have been
several instances recently where reports
have been made of apparent fires on the TT
system. We all appreciate the vigilance
of all of you. However, I believe that
we should set up and follow the procedure
of (when applicable) contacting the Cap
tain of the Flight concerned and ask his
opinion as to whether or not the irregu
larity should be reported to INTD« As all
of you are aware after a report of this
nature is made the aircraft concerned must^
be grounded until thoroughly inspected
by an A & E. Please be careful,
3. LONG DISTANCE PHOME CALLS - Before making
a long distance phone call determine in
your own mind whether the subject to be
discussed warrants it — THINK -- then if
deemed wise — think about what you have
to say. If you are to discuss several
subjects, write them down - make notes
pertaining to each. In other words,
prepare yourself before making the call
Long distance phone calls cost money.
Let’s not be wasteful — use your tele
phone wisely.
4. UNAUTHORIZED NR3A PASC-RSo— ^e have al
ready had one instance of a former em
ployee using transportation over our lines
without any authorization whatsoever. In
this particular case, fast talking by the
unauthorized person got him on the trip.
Let's watch this very carefiilly, as we
cannot afford to have this error repeated.
5. ROUND TRIP SALES — It has been most in
teresting to watch the system RT average
for the past several months and pleasing,
tooj, because it has been on the rise,
February - 19i^; March 20,1%; first 10 days
April - 22.3^. That shows a lot of fine
work by all. An average like that doesn't
just happen. Keep up the good work
fellows. It pays off,

may feel that the figures listed below are a
little stale, I feel sure that a lot of you
will be most interested in seeing how the trips
are stacking up at present, A comparison
against last September as outlined in Traffic
Memorandum No, l6 is most interesting:
