Christ has had a par-' ticular appeal to soldiers in e^^ry generation I think that He has lured soldiers to Him not only because of their great need of Him, to lead them on-*in the way of the cross, to give them the righteousness which is their •'funda mental right, to' inspire that confidence in eternal life with which they can face death as men; but also because of that deep under standing of Christ which the soldier has ever manifested. In the days of His flesh, of all the people He met, none seemed to understand His Almighty Deity as the soldier did, in the Gospels we read of the Roman Centurion or Captain who sought the healing of his servant at the hands of Jesus, saying, "Lord, speak the word only & my servant shall be healed For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man, Go, and ho goeth, and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.» He, who knew authority & power, recognized the‘infinite - power and authority of Jesus to command not only men but the for ces of nature., the germs of disease, the aom- ons of Satall, • And to this Soldier cf o^d, Jesus said,' »I have ix)t found so great fai^ch, not in Israel. *' It was another soI cUoP who at the cross seeing' how Jesua died, rceog.vl^ed in the manner of His dying Divinity and cried out, »surely this was the Son of G-od. ” Let. us as soldiers, today, recognize His Divinity, His authority over all, His invincible power and follow Him as our Lord & Master & the' Cap tain of our Salvation. ■ ASS15MBLY AND MAILING AGENTS: THE ENTIRE TARBOP.O ROT.\RY CLUB THE EDITOR^S CORNER: The ydbmplaint now is th^t X tell stories on everyone else but none on my self.’ Well this is the tale, of a suit o^ rather ;not Just the tale but all of it. Due to a littlevaltercation with a. drunk in a barber ^>hop the coat was well torn and the altercation resulted in r^’lteratiori.s which necessit-'^.ted cutting up the vest to repair the coat, T/.s/iihroe e ouit now down to pp.nts and mended cont. A protrudir-^/ on Yo EciJ-^rs^? Year old motor vehicle-'caused a rent in the. G’jibarast?>ii;g part of t;he pants & the ..wife delivered the pants to her luufcncr in law ( not of course, because she couldn^t mend them Just as'■•well etC'~et^,) The mother-in law took in as a tourist, a soldier boy. who shortl;y dop^Art ed without leaving the customary fee but leaving- only a^‘ter he had taken the contents of the ice-box and ”Ye Editor’s’* pants which, thank Heaven, had yet to be mended. So suit now is composed of one mended ‘oont, if you see a soldier with my pants, tell him he can have the mended coat too if he will call for same as I want nothing more to do with that suit - - Its Jinxed.
