During our conversa tion he informed me that he and Mrs. Russell were leaving shortly for a tour of Europe, I asked him if he would consider writing a letter from Tues-July 6 Europe which would be published in the Galax News. He was somewhat reluctant to promise but after fur ther conversation he Dromised to do so as a favor to the Galax News. R.B« Patten, U.S. Air Force, who is for the pre sent stationed on Satulah, has been meeting with the boys and has been giving them some valuable assist ance in mastering this, which is one of the hardest requirements for first class'scout. Seven scouts left Highlands July 5th for a week’s stay at Camp Daniel Boone, Canton, N.C. These scouts ares Mike Baty, Billy Callo way, Curtis Carpenter, Bobby Norton Jimmy Valentine, Woodrow Wilson and Robert Talley. This group will be accompanied by their Scoutmaster as leader.
