GARDEN TOURS AND FLOVJER SHOW Plans of the Highlands Garden Club for the Garden Tours, August 6 and 7 and the Flower Show, August 1^1- and 15 are v;ell advanced. The Garden Tours are under the direc tion of Mrs. J. Manson Valentine, chairman, and Mrs. John H.C. Perry, co-chairman. The Flower Show chair man is Mrs. Murdock Equen and Mrs. A.T. Carter is co-chairman. Ex tension groundwork for the Flower Show has been done by Mrs. Thomas Tyson who carried on until Mrs. E- quen could take over. Mrs. Equen, an ex-president of Garden Clubs of Georgia, has had wide experience in garden club and flower show work. (Con*t. on page 11) ”POPS CONCERT” This is the third summer High lands has had the opportunity to attend a concert by the Transylva nia Music Camp Faculty Orchestra, conducted by James Christian Pfohl. The soloists will be Naomi Farr, soprano and V/alter Carringer, tenor. The program will be popular and classical music. Everyone can en joy this evening of music and know their contribution is adding to the support of Highlands Community Hos pital. So come and bring the family, the hour is early - 8?00 p.m. And the plfice is the High School Audi torium. There’s lots of room to park your car. Let*s fill up the auditorium on Saturday night, July 17th. 0 O ,mmm • 0 MAN FATALLY INJURED AT BRIDAL VEIL FALLS Harold Hunnicutt, 29? of Seneca, S.C. was fatally injured last Sat urday night about midnight when the 195^ Skyliner Ford he was driving alone v^ent out of control on the curve at Bridal Veil Falls and plunged about 75 feet down the moun tainside. He was thrown from the car, his head striking a large rock. He was taken to Highlands Community Hospital where he died of concus sions and lacerations of the head. It took workers and a wrecker six hours to haul the wreckage up the mountainside to the highway.
