It's just a week ai^ay so all-you Davy Crocketts, Daniel Boones, and Bushrod Gent- Irys better get your buckskins out, call in (the hound dogs, oil up the old squirrel Irifel and get ready to hit the tr^l for town. Sheriff Riley Johnson and his deputies will be on hand to uphold the law (dress hillbilly style or into the ”stockaid” you go) so you local yokels and city slickers alike had better come prepared. A full schedule of events has been plan- (con't, on page 9) QUESTIONS REGARDING HOSPITAL l/#iat is the reaction to the "Humanity Drive for the Hospital? iil^S: Splendid and generous. Admittedly there are those vjho refuse to contribute. There reasons are these: (1.) They cannot afford to donate (although 100 or a quarter would be gratefully ac cepted. ) (2.) They claim a hospital is a luxury Highlands cannot afford. What is really meant by this statement is because of the limited facilities. These people expect .the special services of a metropolitan institution. (3.) They are um-dlling to contribute when they knovj neighbors have used the ' Ccon't. page 8) TR/'A^SYLV;uNIA MUSIC CONCERT Hundreds of local music lovers welcomed the Transylvania Faculty and Staff Orches tra last Saturday night I'jhen they gave a performance at the Highlands School Audi torium. The Orchestra, under the direc tion of James Christian Pfohl, founder and director of the camp, presented a varied program for the benefit of the Highlands Community Gospital* Miss Evelsni McGarrity appeared as so prano soloist id.th the orchestra and was enthusiastically received by the audience. Miss McGarrity has recently ret\irned from Italy \^ere she studied on a Fullbright Scholarship.
