I By Mr. Lester W. Dawley
i This comes froii the member of a family
I who is now enjoying his and their fourth,
j five-month summer period in Highlands.
• More then enjojonent, we love this area.^.
its mountains...its rarefied atmosphere;**
the blue haze of the mountains...the fogs
...the streams and IrJces cJid mcny other
indigenous evidences of God*s handiwork.
Cur first visit to Highlands was in
mid-October, 1952...ne.ture‘s paint brushes
had given a fairyland coloring to all the
country sidel
The mbniory of those scenes, and the
picturesque mountains, created within us
the desire and ambition to return to this
area for lengthy vt.cation periods.#.and
so we came.
These mountains remind me of the foll
owing article (author unknown to me) end
of the stirring emotions wMch come from
being a part of them, even though that
part be infinitesimial.

in their specimen flowers and plants to
the Horticulture Division; and in order
to encourage the ”flower arrangers” of
this community, we re-print here the
