I SPEAK FOR DEMOCR/i.CI (CON*T) BREVJilD MUSIC CENTER
In school, we students learn more ab
out Democracy# We are taught more than
reading, writing ?jid arithmetic. ¥e- are
trained in tolerance, taught to live to
gether in our comraunity and, most of all,
to have minds of our own, We can tal^e the
subjects we like in school and can debate
questions in class. We go to school to
learn, I'Jhen the people are too stupid to
rule themselves, the dictators talce over
and rule the^.
Democracy goes to church with us. We
have the freedom to worship as we see fit
and to respi^ct the way the other fellow
worships, liJhen we go to church, we are
free to give as wo choose. It doesn*t
matter whether we are Baptists, Methodists
Presbyterians of any of the two hundred
and fifty kinds of religions in the United
States*
We have Democracy in our work. Ameri**
oens are the bast paid Tfforkore on earth,
and they work the shortest hours» If we
don’t like the kind of work we do, we can
get other jobs* No one can tell us what
kind of work we must do. We can own our
business -nd be ouw own boss. Labor Un
ions help us get better pay and bettor
working conditions*
