For those who have time, patience,and a
suitable place, this can be a most fascin
ating pa^ime. It also gives you the op
portunity of observing birds more closely
as they come near you. The following sug
gestions may be found helpful in the tam*-
ing of wild birds: To begin with, it is a
good idea to have a feeder with a roof ov
er it where the food stays dry. Food in
small particles,such as finely crushed
grain, gro\md nuts, or corn meal mixed with
bacon drippings, is best because it keeps
kthe birds in the feeder longer by having
