TEXANS VISIT THE HODSDONS
Mr* and Mrs* Walter Bachman, brother
and sister-in-law of Mrs* Nicholas Hodsdon,
are visiting the five Hodsdons (mother,
father, son, daughter, and dog) at their
simmer home on Mirror Lake* The Bachmans
flew from their home at Wichita. Falls,
Texas, and arrived at Atlanta, Georgia, on
Thursday, July 3» They will stay in High
lands for two weeks before returning homee
The two families are sharing vacation
spots* In 1956, the Hodsdons (minus dog)
drove for a visit to the Bachman*s summer
cottage in Red River, New Mexico—the
Highl£j!id£ of tha Roches*
Dialect differences are confusing
but amusing at the happy gathering; the
Bachmans and Mrs* Hodsdon apo native Tex
ans who talk true Texas Territory twang,
Mr» Hodsdon is Bostonian to the bone
('*Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Squah.”)* 'the
Hodsdon children are Florida Craclters and
speak pure Miamian, and the dog. Hi Jinx
Hodsdon, is a hative from Highlands who
barks with a distinctive hillbilly accent.
