A JOY TO BEHOLD
by John T, Gordon
One of the advantages of teaching in
Alaska and having a summer home in High
lands is the education I receive in tra
veling back and forth. There have been
many unique and worthwhile esjperiences, to
be surei but, the one most vivid to me
was on the train returning to North Caro
lina for the summer.
I was in the Club car of the train
heading from Chicago to Atlanta when a
long, tall, bow-legged fellow came in and
sat down by my side, ’’Pardner, ” he said,
"where you from?” "North Carolina,” I
said.” ”Well, I*m from Texas,” he said.
