WHITE ELEPHANTS ANYONE?
Do you have arxy "white elephants"?
Not "rumiaage," but good articles that you
have no use for, but that scaae one else
might like to have, are needed for the
white elephant table at the Hospital Ba
zaar to be held in the Recreation Room of
the Highlands Methodist Church on July
28th and 29th,
Anyone having anything to donate
may leave it at the office of Maigruder
and O’Brien who have very generously of
fered to store it until the time of the
sale*
PYF Meets
Last Simday evening, July 2, the
Presbyterian Youth Fellowship enjoyed a
hanburger dook-out in the yard of the
church. Approximately 20 young people
gathered around the charcoal fire and
shared in the fun and fellowship of a
delicious cook-out supper. Hearty p»aise
went to Miss Gladys Schroeder and Jimmy
Calloway who planned and prepared the
outing.
After the supper, a program, the
topic of \»rtiich was "The Meaning of Life"
was discussed. Everyone joined in to give
or her view of this subject and the dis»
cussion developed into a very interesting
one*
The PYF also agreed to sell tickets
for a lovely hand crocheted bedspread
to be given away by the Woman's Auxiliary
of the Presbyterian Church for the High
lands Ccxnmunity Hospital. The tickets
are being sold for 50^, The bedppread
is on display at the Highlands Furniture
Shop. Anyone interested in piirchasing
a chance for this piece of craftsman
ship may get in touch with Miss Jessie
Harbison, who is in charge of the Ac
tivity, at the Highlands Furniture Shop*
or call 3131*
Next week a movie will be the chief
attraction for the PYF meeting. After
wards there will be a discussion and
refreshments will be served. The Youth
group meets every Sunday evening at
7:00 p.m. and visitors are urged to
attend and join in the fun and fine
fellowship the group enjoys each week*
