ELue Ridge Parkway became a substantial
possibility Monday, July 10, with House

of a proposed new link of the famous

House without opposition, would authorize
an expenditure of ^35,000 for an inten

Ihe Highlands Community Theatre open
ed Wednesday night, July 19th, for a four
day run of William Inge*s Pulitzer Prize
Play, PICNIC. Included in the cast are
such favorites on the Highlands stage as
Virginia Wilcox, who gives a realistic
portrayal of the protective mother. Her
performance as Lola in last season’s COME
BACK, LITTLE SHEBA, also an Inge play, xd.ll

preciates the generosity of Maynard’s
Colonial Shop for setting last Saturday,
July 15, as Hospital Auxiliary Day and
giving 10% of all sales that day to the
Hospital Bazaar. It was reported that
