Miss McLean has won National recog
nition for her work in clay. She is a
former scholarship award winner to the
Corcoran School of Art in Washington,
D.C.j the Art Students* League in New
York City, the Dept, of Sculpture at
Columbia IMiversity, and until 1949 was
at the Yale School of Fine Arts. Her
work is on display at the Florida Gulf
Coast Art Center where she is a member
of the staff. Miss McLean received Na
tional recognition for her collection of
thirty-three miniature and exact repli
cas of America’s First Ladies in their
inaugural gowns.
Rrcm June to November her work will
be displayed at Clover Hill Surprise
Shop* Appointments may be made for
special order work and Miss McLean will
be glad to discuss her ceramics, sculp
tures, and oils with anyone interested.
During the winter months, Ethel
McLean*s studio is at the entrance to
Belleair, Clearwater, Florida, where ahe
has been since 1950*
Mr* Pete Raoul, son of Mrs. Harrison
Raoul of Highlands and Sarasota, Fla*,
will leave the early part of next week
to visit a friend in Norway. He xd.ll
return to Highlands in early September.
