WONDERING
What is it like to probe the depths
of the ocean.
Setting seaweed in motion?
What is it like to soar through the
realms of the sky.
Watching clouds floating by?
I wonder how it would be
To reach the utmost heights;
And look as far as eye could see.
Viewing the wondrous sights
At the end of the rainbow.
What is it like to go beyond
the realm of reality?
What is it like to descend into
the pit of eternity?
I wonder..••...•

Authentic Background
Although fish traps were abolished
from Alaskan waters when Alaska became
the 49th state, during the location film
ing for ”Ice Palace” the director was
able to get scenes of one in operation
because the Kake Village Indians near
Petersburg had received peimission to
use it until I960 by a tun>-of-the-cen-
tury grant. It was the last Alaskan
salmon trap in existence. Ihe screen
play for ”Ice Palace” covers a 40~year
span (1920-1960) in the growth of Ameri
ca’s most northern state#
