Started In Naples^*
If you can*t go to sunny Italy for
a good time, the next best thing is to
hie yourself to the Galax Theatre Sun-Mon,
August 6-7, where the romantic comedy,
”It Started in Naples'* will be shown*
Starring Clark Gable, Sophia Loren,
and Vittorio Da Sica along with a sensa
tional young Italian boy, Marietto, and
his handsome compatriot, Paolo Carlini,
”It Started in Naples” was filmed on the
pictuaresque Isle of Capri and in Rcane
and Naples* It captures all of the color
ful excitement of those magnificent
places as it imfolds the story of an
American lawyer (Gable) in Naples to
settle the estate of his late brother*
Learning that his brother died
bankrupt but leaving a nine-year-old
child who is being cared for by an aunt
(Miss Loren), Gable wants to take him
back to America* The story tuens into a
tug-of-war between the two over possession
of Marietto* Sophia is a honky-*tonk
entertainer whose **care” of the boy has
resulted in his becoming adept at picking
pockets, smoking cigarettes and drinking
wine*
For those who like musicals, ”It
Started in Naples" boasts four new tunes,
with the luscious Sophia Loren not only
singing and dancing, but actually
rock-*n'-rolling, accompanied by the
Neapolitan answer to E3.vls, guitar-
plajdng Carlini* It is a treat to eye,
ear and funnybone.
