Mr. Svrope, who is presently studying with Lee Stras- bert in New York, has served vrith the U.S. Foreign Service (Dept, of State) in Ger- inaiiy, Nicaragua, Italy, and,India. W,D, Haining, the Lion Androcles has to conquer, hails from Yazoo, Mississippi, and has been associated \d.th the Theatre for three years. He was laat seen in ”lhe Red Shoes” last season as the Mayor. Leading the excellent cast are* Nicole Jaffe, as Megaera, the shrewish wife of Androcles, who did such a fine job as Millie in PICNIC5 Morton Lewis, playing the handsome Captain, returns to the HCT stage after portraying the newsboy in PICNIC; Michele Wiedeke, Lavinia, star red in PICNIC as the, lovely Madge| and Richard Melvin as the Centurion, who has worked TdLth the theatre several seasons in fine portrayals. Others in the cast ares Bill Raoul, Lentulus, a long standing member of the Highlands Community Theatre, havtng work ed here for five years; Bob Duncan, Metell* us, is the current Stage Manager for the TheatreI Bob Miller as Spintho, returns to the Highlands stage after his excellait por'teayal of Hal in PICNIC 5 Jim Hines, Ferrovius, has been associated with the Highlands Theatre for four years; Jack Wilcox, the Menagerie Keeper, is a found ing member and past president of the High lands Community Theatre; Bucky Bnerson, the call boy, has worked with the theatre two years; Clyde Bolt, Jr,, the editor, is currently associated with the theatre as Business Manager and Production Mana ger; Ronald Harper, Retiearius, returns to the Highlands stage after his splendid performance as Turk in last seasons “Ccme Back, little Sheba;” Bob Rankin as Secutor is making his debut with the Theatre. Wayne Jones as Marcus Antonius, the Emperor, will be remembered as Alan Sey mour in the first production of PICNIC. He is from Philadelphia and starred as the King in the Traveling Players of German town, Pennsylvania? s production of ”Rum- pelstilskin.” Completing the cast will be the as sorted Christians: Ella Cabe, James CraTntford, Jr., Jane Bruce, Milton Platt, and Fontaine Flowere.
