TEA GIVEN FOR PAT Al'TD VERNON WILSON A tea in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ver non Wilson was given Sunday, Jvine 3 at the home of Mrs. Grace Watson* Ihe host esses were Mrs. Francis Wright, Mrs. Don Watson, and Mts. Albert Duke. Each guest was given a little wedding bell to wear. A large wedding cake was served. Presid- . ing at the punch bowl was Miss Nancy Duke; Miss Linda Wright and Mss Marion Watson served; and Miss Barbara ^ight had charge of the guest book. The hostesses present ed^ the couple with a lovely wedding gift. The couple was married Saturday, May 26 in Toccoa, Ga. Mrs. Wilson is the fomer Miss Pat Setser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Setser, of Ptanklin, N. C. She is a student at Western Carolina College, and will graduate in August with a degree in education. Vernon is the son of the late Mrs. Helen VJilson of Highlands and the late Mr. Sam Wilson of Highlands and Asheville. The couple will reside near Ander son, South Carolina, HUDSON LIBRARY BENEFIT 5y the courtesy of Mrs. Elsie Baty the Hudson Library invites you to a showing of the Sloan Estate on Tuesday, June 12, 4 to 6p.m. Refreshments will be served on the terrace. Admission is 50^ for the benefit of the Hudson Library. The Estate is located on the Satulah road. Lt. Col. Saussy in Movie Lt. Cojb George S. Saussy^ Jr., son of Mr. and >^s. George Saussy of Highlands^ will appear in the coming attraction at the GALAX THEATRE “Marines, Let’s Go.” Last year, when the picture was filmed in Japan, George, as commanding officer of a tank unit in the U» S. Marine Corps, was selected to appear with his 3rd tank battallion in the motion picture. The picture, filmed on Mt. Pugi, depicts a struggle tank and tank killers. The tanks George and his tanit used are very fast and maneu verable. George will be in tank 6 in the picture. Following the filming, the whole 3rd tank battallion was invited to a party given by the movie makers. Lt. Col. Saussy is now stationed at Port Knox where he is teaching Army Offi cer Tank Tactics. '•Marines, Let*s Go’* will be shown at the GALAX THEATRE Satiarday, June 9* ROTARZ CLUB NEV/S Ihere were 11 local menbers and 9 visiting Rotarians present at the weekly meeting of Highlands Rotary Club Tuesday evening. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Ben Wax, owner of Camp Highlander. His address was on the life and death of Sen. Huey Long of La. Mr. Wax said that he was a young boy and witnessed the death of the Senator. He remembers many of the events of Sen. Long diiring his term in office.
