The incoming Secretary and Treasiirer, Mr. Dan McCall and Mir. Richard H^rison, gave a brief report presenting genereO. in formation pertaining to the work of their office. Mir, Ellison Magruder presented the question ”\‘Jhat can our Club of 16 members do to serve others in the coming year? He opened by comparing the Highlands Club to the over one-half million Rotarians in 11,000 Rotary International Clubs in 120 different countries. “These men," he said, »»are trying their best to live up to the ”Four-Way Test” and ideals of Rotary In ternational. Mr. Magruder pointed out what the local Club has done* “^y attend ing one hour each week for the past sev eral years we have provided approximately $500 towards donations for Boy Scout work, Christmas baskets, the Chan Gordon foreign scholarship program, heart fund, scholar ship loan program for Highlands High School students, Highlajids Community Hos pital, PTA for underprivileged children of the community, Boy Scout and Cub Scout Packs sponsored in the name of Highlands Rotary Club, plus school activities that the Club has sponsored. Even though these are on a small scale, they have , beeii accomplished for notary*s sake—•**Servioe Above Self*'* The final plea of the incoming Pres ident to the regular members was that they give one hour per week so that Rotary can go forward even more towards “Service Above Self"—helping others by giving of “self” for the community and future. Mr. Magruder concluded by saying, “This is Rotary—even a small club can be a lot of Rotary—and we havej” Ihere was a memorial prayer said for Mr. William C. Caye, who died last Firday afternoon. Mr. Caye had been active in in both Highlands and Atlanta Rotary Clubs. Sixteen visiting Rotarians, three guests, and eleven regular members attend ed the meeting. There will be a Charter Presentation Ijy the Boy Scouts at next weeks* meeting. These boys will receive their new Scout cards for the 1962-1963 year. REV. McGALL TO PREACH The Rev. G. Dan McCall, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will preach at the summer meeting of Asheville Presby tery. Ihe local Presbyterian church will be represented at Presbytery by Ruling El der Charles Anderson, who will accompany Rev. McCall to Hayesville, N.
