BIBLE SGHOOL ENDS The Vacation Bible School of the Mgh- lands Baptist Church closed on ib?iday^ July 6th with an enrollment of l6 Faculty members and 61 pupils according to the principal. Rev* Clinton Bailey* Follow ing the close of the school, the depart ments gathered for a joint picnio which was held in the recreation room due to the rainy weather. This did not dampen the ^irits of the children, however, and a wonderful period of fellowship was en joyed the members of the school and their families* On Sunday night during the evening service, the annual commencement ex^- cises were held in the church auditorium with approximately 150 in attendance* The program was opened with the worship service as given each day of the school after which the members of the faculty were recognized. Then the parents and visitors had an opportunity to see some of the results of Bible School as each depsortment had a part of the program* The Beginner Department and the Primsucy Department sang some of the songs which they had learned after which the Junior Department demonstrated their knowledge of the Bible through a question and" answer period* The Intermediate Depart ment concluded the program with a ”Rov- ' ing R^orter Broadcast’* of an interview with a Curio Shop Operator and a mission ary, both of whom had just dojciked on a ship arriving from Thailand. After the oommencement, the parents and visitors were cohducted on a tour of thevarious departments where they Faw the handwork of the children and enjoyed a period of refreshments in the recrea tion room. Mr* and Mrs#. John Oleckley and children Laura and John of Augusta, Ga*, Ifrs* Mildred Cornelius, and Mrs* Madge Scarborough of Atlanta, Ga* visited their sister Mte, Louis Edwards and Mr* Edwards July 4 week**end.
