Miss Pauline l-Jhite, a retired mis
sionary from Brazil and now living in
Gaffhey, South Carolina, will speak at
the evening service at the Highlands Bap
tist Church* Miss VJhite is presently
serving on the Staff of Camp Truett for
the Macon Association G* Ae Encampment and
will also be the Mssions Director for the
Royal Ambassador Caicqp which will begin
July l6th« She has had a variety of ex
periences during her 4^ years of service
and is an excellent and interesting speak
er ♦ Services will begin at 8:00 p,m.
Dr* Gordon to Lecture
Robert E» Gordon, University of
Norte Dame, will give the evening Lecture
July 26, at the Museum of Natural ffi.story
at 8s00 p«m* !Ie will lecture on sala
manders, Dr. Gordon is an authority on
salamanders of the Southern Appalachains*
his wide experience with the group,
he will select interesting points about
the life history, methods of eating, court—
ship, and mating patterns*
fellowship, and refreshments.
The young people of the Methodist
chiirch treated the combined groups to a
picnic on SuBset Rook on the evening of
Sunday, July 8th* Approximately thirty-
five boys and girls hiked up to the
Rock and then enjoyed hot dogs roasted
over an open fire. Afterwards, the
Methodist young people led a short devo
tional exercise.
PRESBYTERIAN YOUNG PEOPLE SHARE MEETINGS
Young people *s groups of the Elpis-
copal, Methodist, a nd Presbyterian churches
of Highlands have joined for special meet
ings on each of the past three Sundays#
The Presbyterian young people were hosts
on June 24th and July 1st; programs fea
turing Christian movies, ’’Teenage Challenge>»
and ’’Teenage Code” were presented. The
group also enjoyed singing, infonnal
