Dr. D, Leland Rodgers, and Mr. John S, R&nsey. Presbyterian Hay Ride Success With approximately 86 young people attending, the Presbyterian Youth Fellow ship Hay Ride was a grand success. Two trucks, loaded with riders, left the Pres byterian Church and went down through Horse Cove, White Side Cove, to Cashiers, and back to Highlands. Refreshments were ser ved in the Recreation room of the Church immediately following the retxim of the trucks. the PYF wishes to express their appre ciation to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mehder, ifrtiose help in making the Ride possible was most valuable; Mr. C, Billingsley and Mr. Nevillf Bryson, who donated the use of their trucks; and Mr. Frai^ Crane, who provided the hay, With the money cleared from the Ride and money already on hand, the PYF will be able to purchase 35 new hymn book for the Presbyterian Church. When the books arrive, Doyle Calloway, newly elected Pres ident, will present one on behalf of the PYF to Mr. Sidney McCarty, Clerk of the Session, at the 11 o’clock worship service. REESE UNITED IN MARRIAGE SAT. .Mr, and Mrs. Robert L. Reese, Sr. an nounce the marriage of their daughter, Lucy Mae Reese to Mr, Lewis Warren Reese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe W, Reese of Highlands, The ceremony was performed by the Rev, Ray Reese on July 28 at 9:00 p.m. at the home of the parents of the bride. The Ma tron of Honor was Mrs* Geneiva Potts. The Best Man was Mr. Jimbo Potts, The bride wore a blue satin suitdress with white accessories and a corsage of white phlox. HOWELL VISITS BASE CAMP Director Thelma Howell spent the week end at the Base Canq) in the Bear Camp Creek Gorge. She reported that the work there is progressing very well and that she is es pecially pleased with the number of rare ferns that are being studied. Attention is called to the panel discussion of the work in the gorges, schediiled for August 23rd. Panelists will include Dr. Howell, Dr. V.
