Starred in Paramount*s production are two of America* s most popular performers™ John Wayne and James Stewart. In addition to this powerhouse of a team, the film boasts of outstanding co-starring cast: Vera Miles, who recently scored in Hitch cock* s "Psyco"; Lee Marvin, the clean-cut police officer of TV*s "M-Squad"; Edmond O'Brien, Andy Devine, Ken Murray and John Carradine, The film marks the first joint appear ance on the screen of Wayne and Stewart, who pool their considerable talent to bring to life the dramatic story of two men, each strong in a different way, who, together, succeed in winning statehood for a lawless territory, Stewart portrays a courageous city-bred lawyer from the East who abhors violence, and yet is forced to resort to it, prodded beyond endurance by the most vicious killer in the territory. Wayne plays a respected rancher, the only person in town the killer fears. Although both Wayne and Stewart love the same girl, Wayne, in one of the most sympathetic char acterizations of his long career, befriends the "tenderfoot" lawyer and plays a vital part in the latter*s accomplishment. Miss Miles appears as the girl of their lives. In the role of a frontier waitress, she has the difficult job of choosing between two strong, attractive men x^ho love her. The ruthless, sadistic Liberty Valance is created by Lee Marvin, a role that is a far cry from his television portrayal of the law enforcing officer of "M-Squad^* S^Y LAKE GOLF ESTATES 1 MILE NORTH ON U* S. 64 HOME SITES NOW AVAILABLE OFFICE ON PROPERTY BOX 101 HIGHLANDS PHONE 2393 (afternoons) FORD GARS - PARTS - TRUCKS SERVICE A Large Selection A 1 Used Gars of FACTORY 24 hour TRAINED HECHANICS WRECKER SERVICE coniEY moTOR co.
